I do think Football social media caters for a totally different audience nowadays. There’s no nuance or genuine discussion. It’s all just baiting reactions from people. Maybe I’m too old

This season has made me realise that people hate arsenal more than they love their own teams and that’s truly embarrassing 😭

Hand on heart, I dont feel sad at all. Im so fucking proud of this group. Won us a PL after 22 years and took us to a UCL final. Kings who will be remembered forever. 99% of Europe would want our season. Thank you Mikel and Thank you Arsenal. I recognise my football club again.

Manchester City fitness coach Lorenzo Buenaventura is set to leave the club at the end of the season. Those who know the Manchester City setup say it is difficult to imagine Pep Guardiola continuing to work at the club without Buenaventura, meaning the fitness coach’s departure can easily be taken as another sign there is about to be a change of manager. When Arsenal smashed Spurs 4-1 in February Peter Schmeichel was sat just at the front of the press box. When Gyokeres scored the fourth goal Schmeichel stormed out of his seat to head down to get ready for his post match interview with steam coming out of his ears. He was fuming and clearly so, so gutted at seeing Arsenal win so well. Any other team today, he 100% says that's clear foul and backs the keeper. Seeing him like this just makes that win feel even sweeter.
Peter Schmeichel talking sense. 🗣️

Odegaard took control of this game in the three minutes leading to that goal. Two brilliant passes in behind the West Ham defence, to Madueke then Havertz, and then the weaving run and quick passes to create the goal for Trossard. That's technical quality and leadership.

Arsenal have always been in the rich but never the richest tier. That often meant good sometimes great teams but often with enough flaws or lack of depth that they just missed out. This is special

Arsenal are still not close to the top of the salary bill table in the league. They’ve no divine right to be top of the league or in the Champions League Final. That people expect, no, demand that shows you how far he’s taken this club.

The Emirates tonight has been everything Mikel Arteta has wanted from this crowd for years. He's spent his entire tenure trying to weaponise the fanbase and this was the high point of that mission. The bus welcome, the tifo, the noise, the energy. Properly hostile.
