Turkey rolls out the red carpet for Hamas terrorists. Now an Israeli-Turkish citizen is harassed and screamed at in an Istanbul mall. When a government gives terrorists a safe haven, it should come as no surprise when their hatred is echoed on its streets. Disgraceful and unacceptable. xitter.cf/halkinsesi34_/status/2…

I need American veterans who worked with the YPJ/SDF in Syria. While there is much broader work going on regarding US-Kurdish relations, we are focusing on a few things for our YPJ partners against ISIS in the immediate term. Please contact me or give my contact to any who are willing to get involved in some fairly simple advocacy efforts, especially special operations, officers, and NCOs. It’s time for us to speak up for our friends, and ensure America continues to partner with them.

Simple questions: Why do 5 million Palestinians have the "right" to a state, but not 40-60 million freedom-seeking #Kurds? Why are there endless marches & protests for Palestinians, but not Kurds? Why is the UN obsessed with Palestinians, but doesn't give a damn about Kurds?

Kürdistan’ı yağmalayanlar Filistin’i savunamaz! #Kürtlerin statüsünü reddeden, Filistin’e bağımsızlık isteyemez! Kürt dilini, kimliğini ve kültürünü asimile etmeye çalışanlar, başka coğrafyalardaki kültürel çeşitliliği savunamaz! Kürtler sizin turnusol kâğıdınızdır! Samimiyet testini Kürdistan’da kaybettiniz efendim! #Gazze #Efrin

I am Italian. I fought beside the Kurds. I was at the siege of Kobani and in the liberation of Raqqa. I am ashamed of my country. Italy’s contribution to the war against ISIS was to put its own volunteers on trial: Italians who served beside the Kurdish forces, the ground troops of the coalition that Rome belongs to. Under the flag of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, twelve thousand men and women died to see ISIS defeated. At the table where the victory is now discussed, none of them has a seat. There is no Kurd, no Arab, no Assyrian, no Armenian, no Yazidi. Only states are admitted, and some of them earned their chair by adding a flag and a name to the coalition’s letterhead. During the siege of Kobani, Azad picked up the phone, joking, and pretended to call Obama. “Thank you, Obama, for the support,” he said. He fell less than a month later. If only he could see what happened here later. The same city, under siege again. Cut off from electricity, water, phone lines. Children dying of cold in the dead of winter. A hundred and fifty thousand civilians trapped again. And the world let it happen. They called it a “security operation,” because now ISIS wore a suit. Kurdish blood was cheap, and it bought something. It kept the bombs from going off in European capitals. Then the people who were paid for in that blood found a new man in Damascus, one willing to deal, and they went to him. I can’t prove what was said in those rooms. I can read the outcome: the oil fields, the border crossings and the institutions passed to Damascus, and the autonomy my comrades died for was dissolved. The Kurds are forgotten. Their cause is shelved, and the word “democracy” is spoken in Europe’s capitals only about places that suit them. I don’t regret fighting for autonomy. I don’t regret fighting for Kurdistan. But I wish I could take back every bullet I fired that may have stopped a plot to blow up a European capital. Europe did not deserve them.
A tremendous victory — and a new chapter. Today in Rome, the Coalition to Defeat ISIS marks the achievement of Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR), one of the great military campaigns of our time: the territorial caliphate dismantled, and a path opened from terror toward stability. That victory belongs to the Americans and coalition partners who served, and to the Iraqis and Syrians who fought for their nations' futures. It belongs most of all to those who did not come home, and to the Gold Star families who carry their absence every day. No ceremony can repay that debt. What we can do is make certain their sacrifice purchased something lasting — a region where the caliphate cannot return, and nations able to defend what their sons and daughters helped secure. That is the measure by which this mission must be judged, and the promise we owe them. President Trump understands that victory requires both the strength to prevail and the confidence to hand the region its own future once the mission is accomplished. OIR was an instrument of stability; its success is measured by how much responsibility our partners can now carry themselves.
