एक खांटी किसान नेता क्या होता है अगर देखना है तो आप रामनिवास कूकणा को जरूर देखना। मैंने रामनिवास कूकणा को अख़बार की खबरों से लेकर रील तक लगातार देखा है। जब थोड़ा बहुत समझने लगे थे कि नेता नाम की कोई कौम होती है तो सबसे पहले रामनिवास का नाम ही स्मरण आता है।
बीकानेर में दो नौजवान में मुझे बेहद पसंद है रामनिवास कुकणा और मघाराम केड़ली। मुझे कई बार बड़ा आश्चर्य होता है कि सिद्धि बाईसा चुनाव जीतते हैं और रामनिवास और मघाराम अब तक एक अदद टिकट नहीं ला पाए।
स्थानीय भाषा में बोलकर खूब लोग वायरल होते हैं पर जिस अंदाज में और जिस लोक पवित्रता से रामनिवास अपनी मातृभाषा बोलता है वो आज के किसी भी नेता के पास नहीं है।
कांग्रेस पार्टी की सबसे बड़ी विफलता यह है कि वह अपने ऐसे कैडर को कुछ नहीं दे पाई और जनता के लिए शर्मिंदी है कि रामनिवास कूकणा को सरपंच का चुनाव भी लड़ना पड़ रहा है....

This plate finally got published in the Indo-Iranian Journal, Volume 69, Issue 4 after a long wait. Some key takeaways from the paper:
>The plate is probably dated in the Gupta era 58, or 377-78 CE which may indicate Isvarasena was a Gupta feudatory, but we need more evidence. Nevertheless, it points towards increasing Gupta influence in western India.
>This is the earliest dated land grant charter from Gujarat and one of the oldest from North India.
>The issuer of the grant was Senapati Maghavarman who served the king Isvarasena. The two can't be identified with certainty, but a character named Maghavarman features in a 5th century play titled Padatadika authored by Kashmiri playwright Shyamalika. Maghavarman was a senapati in the play.
>So far Kumaragupta I is regarded as the first Gupta ruler with direct authority over Gujarat. However, this plate dated in the Gupta era, was issued either during the last regnal years of Samudragupta or the beginning of the reign of Chandragupta II. More evidence is needed to establish Gupta suzerainty over Gujarat in late 5th century. The Prayag Prashasti speaks of Samudragupta's exploits against the Shamas who ruled Gujarat and Malwa.

🧵 Discovery of a new Gupta era copper plate from Gujarat:
Last week, a new copper plate from Gujarat was brought to my attention. The charter was issued in Gupta Saṃvat 57 or 376-77 CE. It consists of 5 lines of writing in Sanskrit language and Gupta script of circa 4th century CE.
I have transcribed the plate with the help of Sri Pritam Kumar. While @KushagraAniket ji is meticulously working on its translation. We hope to publish this record soon.
