Horizon wanted me to fill out their survey to get their endorsement. I did not do the survey. Hence no endorsement. They have still “recommended” multiple candidates who did not complete the survey.
Replying to @ImnotselfishL @DevineSean
I actually have no clue what you're talking about.
If a candidate does not accept Horizon's endorsement, as you're saying Sean should have done, Horizon will only issue a recommendation. Therefore Sean either was not offered an endorsement from Horizon or did not accept it.
This is BS. I didn't actively seek out Horizon's recommendation of me, nor do I have any relationship with them. I can't stop organizations from endorsing me. This happens in every campaign. You, on the other hand, have taken direct and intentional involvement. It's contemptuous.
It is disingenuous for @DevineSean to claim victimhood of 'an organized push from outside to unseat him', while Jeff Leiper's shadow party is doing precisely that for him
During an election, people will challenge your position/ record. That's the point

Yes, I said it on TV: "In Ward 9, there's nothing sexier than a dry basement." 😉 People always say "infrastructure isn't sexy" because you can't hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new water main. But after this summer, the priorities are clear. 🧵👇(1/5)
The truth? I’ve been beating the drum for better infrastructure investment since Day 1 of being your councillor. Protecting your homes and neighborhoods has always been a top priority. (4/5)
🏗️ Ottawa’s infrastructure is facing a major crisis—especially in Ward 9, where decades of delayed maintenance on roads, sewers, and facilities created a multi-billion dollar funding gap. Waiting until things break costs taxpayers far more in the long run. (1/5)
🏡 3. Fight for Ward 9: Secure fair funding for older neighborhoods to protect quality of life & cut storm risks.
🛣️ 4. Build Smarter: Use resilient tech like permeable pavement & cost-effective methods like Edmonton's road patching system to cut long-term costs. (4/5)
My plan is simple: Invest More. Spend Smarter. Deliver Better.
Let's build infrastructure in Ward 9 that lasts, performs better, and delivers real value for taxpayers. 🌐 Learn more at seandevine2026.ca (5/5)

Expressions come to mind: "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Or "What the fool casts aside, the wise person picks up." Or "One person's mistake becomes another person's advantage." Congrats @PWHL_Ottawa! Glad you found a welcoming home. ctvnews.ca/ottawa/article/ot…
Here's the first outage map that came out from @hydroottawa, but this would indicate a far broader outage than I'm hearing about so far. But I'm hearing about outages in Fisher Heights, Country Place, Bells Corners. More info to come.
I'm just hearing from residents a few minutes ago about a power outage in Fisher Heights / General Burns. It's not yet up on the @hydroottawa outage map. I'll try to get info ASAP.
So this literally what I proposed, and was at first declined. While I’m glad that the City has changed their mind, it’s frustrating that they need to make things so convoluted. Now we’ll see if they reconsider my idea about setting out dumpsters in flooding hot-spots.
The team at the City of Ottawa is continuing to do everything possible to support residents affected by flooding. Here’s a new, additional measure for people who want to dispose of garbage. If you bring the details of your basement flooding service request and a piece of ID confirming your address to the Trail Road facility, we will waive all fees and accept your waste free of charge. For those that have already brought their waste, you will be able to submit a reimbursement request, along with your receipt from Trail Road, to get a refund. Details will soon be available on our Heavy rainfall page at ottawa.ca/en/health-and-publ…
Thanks for reaching out, @_MarkSutcliffe. I’ll be collecting reports from Ward 9 residents for the next few days, and I’ve got some ideas on practical initiatives that we can advance to help address some problems.
Today's record rainfall has caused significant flooding and power outages in several areas of the city. @ottawacity staff and @hydroottawa crews have been deployed to respond as quickly and effectively as possible. I have been in contact with city councillors in many of the affected areas, and my office is working with city staff on a number of measures to respond and support residents. We will provide a full operational update tomorrow including all relevant departments and Ottawa Hydro. I will also ask staff to suspend garbage limits in certain wards for the next week so that residents can dispose of damaged material. And I will bring a motion to the next council meeting to waive building permit fees for all residents who need to rebuild their basement because of these storms. Stay tuned for more updates.
