Miami’s next quarterback decision could define this rebuild. 🐬
Through five games, Malik Willis ranks 24th in passing yards (849), tied for 28th in passing touchdowns (2), and 31st in passer rating (68.4) among the 32 starters in NFL.com’s Week 6 quarterback group.
Here’s our stock-up, stock-down report on 11 quarterback prospects following Saturday’s action on October 17, with an eye on Miami’s options in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Which prospect would you want Miami to take a closer look at?
Miami is reportedly projected to have roughly $110 million in salary cap space when free agency opens in March. Here are nine potential targets who could address the Dolphins’ needs, evaluated by their current production through October 16. Who should Miami prioritize? 🐬
Heading into the bye, it’s time to take stock of Miami’s rookie class. 🐬 Jacob Rodriguez is making an early case for Defensive Rookie of the Year and helping set the tone for a promising young group. Take a look at where the rest of Miami’s rookies land in our Dolphins Breakdown rookie rankings.

Our Dolphins Breakdown 2027 quarterback production rankings are based on what each player has produced this season. We used 2026 passing statistics through October 10 and ranked draft-eligible FBS and FCS quarterbacks by NCAA passing efficiency, requiring at least four games played and 75 passing attempts.
The formula:
[(8.4 × passing yards) + (330 × passing touchdowns) + (100 × completions) − (200 × interceptions)] ÷ passing attempts.
This rewards completion rate, yards per attempt, and touchdown rate while penalizing interceptions. Every quarterback is evaluated using the same calculation. Height, weight, and age provide context but do not affect the rankings.
The formula does not include rushing production or adjust for strength of schedule. These rankings measure passing efficiency; evaluating NFL potential also requires film study and context.
Drew Mestemaker, Trinidad Chambliss, and Arch Manning are our three honorable mentions as we continue tracking the class.
Formula verified against the NCAA’s football statistics manual.
Here’s Dolphins Breakdown’s current top 10 big board for the 2027 NFL Draft, compiled from three recently updated prospect rankings. Miami would pick No. 3 overall if the season ended today, but free agency will help shape the decision. With roughly $100 million in projected 2027 cap space, the Dolphins could add veteran talent to address key needs. Those moves will heavily influence which prospect Miami ultimately targets.
Who would you want Miami to draft? Fins up! 🐬
Ollie Gordon keeps making his case: 188 rushing yards and two touchdowns over the last two games. Coleman’s first NFL score and Johnson’s forced fumble added more signs of promise. Miami is still discovering its foundation. #FinsUp
🔥 Isaac Brown put on a SHOW against Florida State tonight! The explosive Louisville RB is drawing Day 2 consideration in the 2027 NFL Draft, with projections generally ranging from Rounds 2–4. 🐬 Could Brown be a potential replacement for Jaylen Wright in Miami’s backfield? #DolphinsBreakdown #FinsUp #IsaacBrown #NFLDraft2027
Miami’s defense came to play. 🔥
4 sacks. 8 QB hits. Zero touchdowns allowed.
Jacob Rodriguez was everywhere. Zach Sieler brought the pressure. Chop Robinson kept coming.

Miami’s receiver room looks different today — but the possibilities are still there. 👀🐬
With Jalen Tolbert outside, Malik Washington working the slot/motion role and Chris Bell opposite him, this is one possible 11-personnel look Miami could use to create space and force the defense to declare its coverage.
Different names. Same goal: get playmakers in space and attack.
