BREAKING: DHS contractors are toppling the last of four ancient cottonwoods to build double border walls across the San Rafael Valley.
The wall cuts through the key remaining wildlife corridor for endangered jaguars between Arizona and Sonora, where human border crossings are seldom seen.
A protest camp had occupied and protected this tree for more than 60 days, halting construction. The camp was raided and campers were arrested this morning.
This wall will effectively lock the remaining jaguars in the U.S. into solitary confinement, while permanently marring one of the last remaining wild places along the Arizona border.

Simon has been found dead, reportedly from "suicide." RIP to Simon and to all whistleblowers who have died too young.
The truth about Lutnick will never die
I am the British whistleblower who reported evidence concerning Howard Lutnick, his links to Jeffrey Epstein, and Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC to the FBI in 2020–21.
Listen to the BBC File on 4 documentary about my whistleblower story:

BBC News:
bbc.com/news/articles/c9q28d…
I later shared evidence with the House Oversight Committee, which subsequently questioned Lutnick behind closed doors.
My disclosures also contributed to regulatory action in the US and UK, including a £96m HMRC tax assessment relating to BGC’s partnership scheme. I believe the true tax exposure is substantially higher.
I also reported to the FBI and financial regulators matters involving Cantor Fitzgerald’s Relief Fund and BGC/Cantor’s annual 9/11 Charity Day.
The personal consequences of whistleblowing, and the retaliation I say followed, have been devastating for my family and me.
Mother Jones previously reported that documents I uncovered revealed a years-long business tie between Howard Lutnick, Cantor Fitzgerald and Jeffrey Epstein through AdFin, including a 2018 exchange in which Lutnick and Epstein discussed the company directly:

Follow me here on X and on LinkedIn. I intend to share more of the evidence and the story behind what happened.

NEW: Local leaders across Texas are saying the quiet part out loud: Abbott’s “pause” on Flock cameras and data centers will be quickly undone if he wins re-election.
Abbott fought to bring data centers and Flock cameras to Texas– and even his fellow Republicans know his sudden opposition to them is an election-year stunt.

Here is the difference of Jalen Duren signing with Detroit for 5/200M compared to the Qualifying Offer and max salary in 2027.
There is certainly a significant risk and Duren needs to know $189M is waiting for him, but there is not much difference in the $$.

BREAKING: A shocking new investigation from the San Antonio Current just uncovered three more cases where Ken Paxton gave plea deals allowing sex offenders to avoid jail. This guy is legitimately evil.

John Oliver lists off just some of Ken Paxton’s scandals:
“Paxton spent nearly 9 years under indictment for securities fraud before the charges were dropped in a deal in which he paid nearly $300,000 in restitution to his victims and agreed to complete 100 hours of community service and 15 hours of legal ethics education, which is just an amazing thing for a state AG to have to do.
Not just that, he was also accused of bribery and abuse of office by eight of his own top deputies... He was later impeached by the Republican-controlled Texas House. Now the Senate later acquitted him, but by then, Paxton had fired 4 of the staff who'd reported him, which led to a lawsuit claiming he'd violated the state's whistleblower Act, and eventually Texas taxpayers had to pay over $6 million to those staffers Paxton had fired.
... But wait, because I'm still not done. Reporting recently emerged about the acquisition of 15 properties worth about $9 million by Paxton and trusts associated with him... He'd omitted rental income and mortgages from financial disclosures, obscuring his wealth, and that incredibly, he also appears to have used an address where he did not live while voting in 6 elections, all of which did throw a bit of a wrench into his efforts to present himself as a law and order candidate.”

Texas failed to process an estimated half a million voter registration records over the past year.
No eligible Texan should lose the opportunity to vote because of the state's failure. No county should have to use resources fixing a problem they didn't create.
@TxDPS, @TXsecofstate, and @GregAbbott_TX owe Texans an explanation and a fix.
Be sure to check your voter status at VoteTexas.gov before Oct. 5th. #txlege

30 years of Texas under inept GOP leadership. They suspended 1.2M voters a month ago and now we find out they aren't registering voters through DPS even though they were sued 7 years ago to force them to comply. Its systematic sabotage at every level.

Greg Abbott loves lecturing Texans on election integrity. Yet, his own DPS just sat on tens of thousands of voter registrations weeks before an election.
They call it a glitch. I call it cheating — and hypocrisy.

Gina Hinojosa on Greg Abbott refusing to debate her: “He’s hiding from his record. It is indefensible. He’s been in charge for 12 years now and I just went through the stats: the most uninsured, the most bankruptcies, the most people disconnected from their electricity. That is his record, he owns it and he’s hiding from it and he’s hiding from the voters. He would be a fool to debate me at this point because his record is trash”

Barack Obama at his last press briefing with reporters, 2017:
"I have enjoyed working with all of you. That does not, of course, mean that I've enjoyed every story that you have filed, but that's the point of this relationship. You're not supposed to be sycophants. You're supposed to be skeptics. You're supposed to ask me tough questions. You're not supposed to be complimentary, but you're supposed to cast a critical eye on folks who hold enormous power."
