In July 2022, Professor Dip Kapoor's excellent book proposal on indigenous contestations of capitalism landed in my inbox. I am extremely sorry to say that this was likely Dip's last book, as he sadly passed away last week. An extraordinary scholar, and a kind and generous man.

If you are in need of a drink or snacks at #ECAS2025, come to the Meet the Editors Drop-In, 17.30-19.00 on the 3rd floor of the main building. A great opportunity for prospective authors to meet Journal Editors informally & ask questions about publishing over a glass of wine.

Exciting morning at #ECAS2025 as we have a panel of 20 leading journal editors giving top tips for African Studies authors. I'll be there too with books advice, and if that isn't enough to tempt you out of bed, you can also see this amazing art installation upstairs!

I'm often asked about the cost of access to research, especially for scholars from the Global South. This is one way that Taylor & Francis is making a meaningful difference. Over 15 years of STAR providing access to research for researchers in resource-constrained countries. 🌟
Taylor & Francis is celebrating 15 years of STAR (Special Terms for Authors and Researchers). This important initiative helps individual unaffiliated researchers in over 100 resource-constrained countries by providing free access to the latest research. newsroom.taylorandfrancisgro…
