Back-of-envelope numbers for 1 gigawatt data center:
All-in Capex: ~$50 bn
Enterprise revenue generated: ~$25-30 bn/year
Electricity cost: $1-2 bn/year
~2 year payback.
The boom is real.
Oklo CEO Jacob DeWitte joined @BloombergTV to discuss Oklo's progression toward criticality and what it takes to bring advanced nuclear systems online.
With our isotope test reactor in Texas just months away from reaching criticality.

Barclays on the Nuclear Renaissance:
â˘Â "The nuclear renaissance has gained momentum in 2026
â˘Â Execution signals are becoming clearer
â˘Â Markets are increasingly selective in how they are pricing the theme
â˘Â Policy is moving from endorsement to enablement
⢠Hyperscaler demand is underwriting the next stage of build-out
⢠Execution risk remains, but bottlenecks are easing
⢠Overall, we maintain our bullish stance on nuclear"

The AI investment cycle is only accelerating:
Global data center CapEx driven by AI is projected to reach $5.2 trillion by 2030, according to McKinsey.
IT equipment would represent ~$3.3 trillion of that total, followed by data center infrastructure at ~$1.6 trillion and power generation at ~$300 billion.
This assumes 125 incremental gigawatts of new AI data center capacity added between 2025 and 2030, requiring as much electricity as ~125 nuclear reactors to power.
In an accelerated demand scenario, total CapEx could rise to $7.9 trillion, with 205 incremental gigawatts of capacity added.
A constrained scenario would require $3.7 trillion, with 78 incremental gigawatts added.
The investment is expected to be driven by mass adoption of generative AI, enterprise integration across industries, competition between mega-cap tech and other firms, and governments investing heavily in AI infrastructure.
The AI buildout is set to reach unprecedented scale.

CONGRESS JUST INTRODUCED A BILL TO FIX THE TAX RULES STRANGLING NUCLEAR CONSTRUCTION
¡ ITC problem: Utilities building nuclear qualify for a 30-50% clean energy investment tax credit - but ITC normalization rules force that credit to be amortized over the reactor's 40-year life, gutting near-term rate relief
¡ QPE problem: Qualified Project Expenditure credits for nuclear cannot be transferred to third parties - utilities are sitting on credits they cannot use and cannot monetize
¡ The fix: The Nuclear Rate Stabilization Act gives nuclear the same ITC normalization opt-out already available to battery storage, and unlocks QPE credit transferability to open up capital access
¡ Bipartisan: Led by Rep. Harrigan (R-NC-10) and Rep. Panetta (D-CA-19), with backing from NEI and Elementl Power
This is a financing structure fix, not new money. If enacted, it makes existing IRA credits actually functional for nuclear buildout economics - which is the real bottleneck on new reactor starts.

Oklo CEO Jacob DeWitte joined @LizClaman on @FoxBusiness to discuss why nuclear is the clear solution for power in space.
Nuclear has powered missions for decades through isotope systems that deliver continuous energy where others canât.
At Oklo, weâre building the systems that support both the present and the future, including our isotope test reactor that will reach criticality by July 4.

$OKLO just completed its Groves test site build in Idaho for the test reactor.
Next step is first criticality - the key real-world validation of the design - targeted for July â26.
~7 months from ground to finished structure. If they hit it, 2028 commercialization path gets meaningfully clearer.
Big catalyst ahead, thesis continuing to de-risk.

$AMZN CEO: âThere is a power shortage in the US and the world.â
For new data centers, the most optimistic grid connection wait time is 3 years as power transformer lead times stretch to 12-24 months.
So, most of the developers and hyperscalers are resorting to natural gas as itâs the fastest option.
But even then, permitting is still an issue and risks delays and cancellations as is the case for $NBIS New Jersey data center.
Power is now a bigger bottleneck for scaling AI than itâs ever been.

President Trump promised to fully unleash American energy dominance to protect our economic and national security â todayâs determinations allow the Department of Energy to use funding secured in the One Big Beautiful Bill to strengthen our grid infrastructure and unleash reliable, affordable, secure energy.

The trend reversal from the blue ribbon (downtrend) to the red ribbon (uptrend) is typically a bullish signal. This shift is often accompanied by a steady increase in whale accumulation. The momentum bar at $64 is acting as strong support, while $76-$78 is acting as resistance.

AI DATA CENTER POWER DEMAND COULD 4X THIS DECADE
Battery storage led by $TSLA & $EOSE will stabilize the grid by storing excess generation and discharging during peak inference cycles.
Nuclear will anchor the baseload with $OKLO, $SMR, $BWXT & $CEG delivering nonstop clean power straight to AI campuses while upstream fuel supply from $CCJ, $UUUU & $LEU secures the inputs that make long-duration nuclear viable.
Transmission, turbines & cooling will close the loop with $VST, $GEV & $VRT expanding the grid and infrastructure that move the energy behind AIâs next decade.
Natural gas will keep the grid stable between renewable cycles with $VG & $NEXT expanding LNG capacity to guarantee uninterrupted power for AI loads.
Renewables like $FSLR, $BE & $NEE will drive marginal cost of compute lower by supplying cheap daytime energy that feeds grid-scale storage.

Power stocks with AI tailwinds - Goldman
Among secular growth themes, Goldman Sachs' equity team says it continues to think companies tied to investment in power infrastructure are a particularly attractive area.
The table below shows power stocks highlighted by Goldman equity analysts that should benefit from the secular tailwind of AI investment.
"Future global investment in power infrastructure incentivized by the conflict in the Middle East could prove to be another tailwind for the theme," strategist David Kostin said. "In contrast with many other secular growth stocks, this group of stocks has outperformed sharply YTD."
