Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Gaza following an Israeli strike that killed five people, including two women who served their community at the Holy Family Church.
Please join the Caritas family in praying for those who lost their lives and for peace in #Gaza.

With the equivalent of about $25, a woman farmer in the Sahel joined a savings group backed by Canada. Today she runs a shop.
Five years of the SANC2S project with @DevPeace 940 hectares secured for women, 300+ savings groups.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to cause immense loss and suffering. Canadian organizations working to deliver aid to Palestinians told me about the continued roadblocks to their tireless efforts to save lives. Safe, unimpeded access for aid is the only way forward.

Sadly, this act adds to the continuous military attacks against the civilian population and places of worship in Gaza. I again call for an immediate halt to the barbarism of the war and for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. I renew my appeal to the international community to observe humanitarian law and to respect the obligation to protect civilians, as well as the prohibition of collective punishment, the indiscriminate use of force and the forced displacement of the population.

From #Gaza, the cries of parents rise to heaven ever more intensely as they clutch the lifeless bodies of their children, searching for food and shelter from bombs. I renew my appeal to leaders: cease fire, release all hostages, and fully respect international humanitarian law!
