Here at the Detroit Health Department we are committed to helping families create safer sleep environments for their babies.
Remember the ABCs of safe sleep:
Alone: Baby should sleep alone, without pillows, blankets, toys or bumpers.
Back: Always place baby on their back to
sleep.
Crib: Baby should sleep in a safety-approved crib or bassinet with a firm, flat surface.
These simple steps can help reduce the risk of sleep-related infant deaths, including Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and accidental suffocation.
