Thank you to the Catholic Climate Covenant for bringing together Catholics from across the @archofdet to reflect on our call to care for creation. It was a valuable opportunity for conversation, prayer, and discernment about how we can best live out this call in our local Church.

Jesus is the King of Second Chances, inviting us again and again into the vineyard. In this weekend’s Gospel, we see that it’s not enough simply to accept His invitation. We have to put our “yes” into action, walk into the vineyard, and serve.

At the annual Red Mass today, we gathered in prayer for all who serve in the legal profession. May God bless their work, strengthen them in their pursuit of justice, and help them always recognize the dignity of every person they serve.

National Migration Week is Sept. 21-27, with World Day of Migrants and Refugees on Sept. 27. Our Holy Father selected a poignant theme drawn from Jesus' words: "Whoever welcomes even just one of these children, in my name, welcomes me." My full statement: aod.org/migration

It was a blessing to celebrate Mass today at St. Gabriel in Detroit with the Missionaries of Charity on the Feast of St. Teresa of Calcutta. May her example, and the faithful witness of her sisters, inspire us to see Christ in every person, especially the poor and suffering.

It was a blessing to join Cardinal Joseph Tobin and the Jesuit community in celebrating the Feast of St. Ignatius and 150 years of Jesuit ministry in Detroit. May the example of St. Ignatius continue to inspire us to live "Ad majorem Dei gloriam" — for the greater glory of God.
