The limited-time PvE matchmaking toggle test has ended - we want to thank everyone that came to take part and who provided us with valuable data and insights.
More than 30 million rounds of PvE were played over the testing period - this gives us a huge amount of information to analyze! As such, we’re going to need a short period of time to dive into the numbers and draw out the insights.
Check the blog link for a breakdown of the next steps, and submit your thoughts and feedback!

Skill Tree:
• Middle of each branch is now one choice between two skills. You can pick again after a reset
• End of each branch has two nodes. After the required skill point spend, you can take up to two of the three skills
• Fight or Flight stamina is up about 25% per level. Stubborn Mule regen is up about 33%. Back on Your Feet healing goes from 30 to 40
• More skill changes are likely as Embark watches how people use it
Weapon Stencils:
• 14 stencils: 5 on the Frozen Trail Premium Pass, 1 in the DLC, 8 found Topside
• Learned like blueprints, then applied to compatible weapons with Stencil Parts from Topside
• A downed Raider can still lose the weapon, stencil included
Outpost:
• Unlocked by completing a project. Accept the quest and bring a camera
• Can be expanded with modules. Unlocking it also opens the research station
• 100 Furniture Designs added: 4 on the Frozen Trail Pass, 1 in the DLC, 73 found Topside
• Designs work like blueprints and are used to craft Outpost furniture
Reward Pass:
• Cred is removed. Reward Points now go to whichever pass is active
• Frozen Trail Pass has 60 levels, with a Free track and a Premium track
• Old Raider Decks move to the Legacy Pass. Rewards already unlocked stay granted
• Only one pass can be active at a time
Feats:
• Easy: 15 Reward Points, +1 weekly milestone progress
• Medium: 25 Reward Points, +2 weekly milestone progress
• Hard: 50 Reward Points, +3 weekly milestone progress
• Three weekly milestones, 250 Reward Points each, at 4, 8, and 12 progress
• Feats can still be finished after that, but the milestone rewards wait for the weekly reset
Twitch Drops:
• Oxygen Respirator at 60 minutes, Mailbox at 120 minutes
• Live October 8 to November 4, 2026
Content and bug fixes:
Animation:
• Knockback now matches the direction you are pushed
• Fixed jitter and broken movement animations after reconnecting and being revived
• Fixed getting stuck on small obstacles while sliding
• Added map and inventory interaction animations, proximity-chat mouth movement, exhaustion after running out of breath, and a dust-off after sliding
• Fixed items staying in hand during knockout or some interactions
ARC:
• Vaporizer multi-target laser gives a clearer dodge window
• Fire status visuals added for ARC drones
• Higher-tier Queen and Matriarch leg loot moved from the armor pieces to the leg pieces. Armor can still hold some loot
• Rare enemy detection errors reduced
• Matriarch can use all of its ranged attacks again
• Physical force against some ARC rebalanced
Audio:
• Character sounds occlude more naturally through walls and obstacles
• More metal groan variations
• Snap Hook now has attach, detach, and rope sounds
• Skill Tree unlock sound updated, with a hold-interaction cue
• Fixed some weapon sounds failing to play
• Raider Voice model quality improved
Cosmetic:
• Celeste's appearance updated
• Backpacks with lights have an emissive toggle, so the lights can be turned off
• Zenith Outfit now has its intended toggles. Owners should get the missing ones shortly
Gameplay:
• Solo vs. Squads is no longer a matchmaking option while Embark reworks its role
• Explosive damage vs ARC reworked. Hullcracker deals over 50% more to armor plates and about 30% less to fragile parts
• More contextual ping info for ARC and objects
• Stash max is 328 without Expedition rewards or Nomadic Envoy space
• Loot can be dropped to the ground from containers
• No sprint-climb on ladders while exhausted
• Fixed some vaults onto destroyed ARC or other movable surfaces launching the player
• Weapon slot weight reduction applies only to the loadout
• Map can be opened while downed
• Better hit registration when shooting from on top of ARC
• Heavy Shield durability decay cut from 0.20 to 0.15. Movement penalty cut from 15% to 10%
• Scrambling: a sprint at a steep slope can carry you up for a short time
• Tumbling too long now drops you into a slide
Items:
• Flame Spray range increased to match the visual
• Placed ziplines break if they intersect something
• Snap Hook range cut from 20m to 18m, durability use from 2% to 4% per use, power cost from 50 to 60. It is meant as burst mobility next to the Grappling Hook, not a straight upgrade. Full power still allows several uses, not instant back-to-back ones
• Items that spawned outside their intended areas or containers now stay in the set locations
Weapons:
• Anvil rarity moved from Green to Blue. Bantam takes the uncommon hand cannon role
• Anvil Splitter is no longer a mod. It is an upgrade option for the Amplified Anvil, and the Anvil Tech Mod slot is removed. Existing Splitters can be sold or recycled into Amplified Fragments
• Jupiter no longer hits ARC parts behind the target twice. Stronger against armor, slightly weaker against weak spots
• Hullcracker no longer looks incomplete in the inspect menu
• Dolabra can destroy the yellow weak points inside the Harvester
• Weapons picked up from the ground keep their attached parts
Maps:
• Doorblockers on small side-sliding doors now sit vertical
• Texture quality improved on several maps
• Fixed downed players getting stuck on terrain
• Some map-edge areas are darker than intended
• Blue Gate: lighting adjusted, and some stuck spots fixed
• Buried City: Hospital Roof is climbable again. Ray-traced lighting restored on boarded shutters. Fixed light bleeding into an interior
• Pendola Pass is testing Dynamic Loot Zones. Area loot type stays the same, but value can change from raid to raid
• Riven Tides loot value up about 15%. Some floating objects fixed
Performance:
• Memory, performance, and stability optimizations, including lower enemy memory use
• Fixed players sometimes seeing different outfits on the same character
• Fixed a crash when changing graphics settings
• AMD FSR updated to 4.1.1
Traders:
• Celeste now trades furniture materials and new gameplay items
• Tian Wen no longer sells Anvil and Hullcracker. Those move to the weekly Nomadic Envoys rotation
• Launcher Ammo and Energy Clips have a daily purchase limit
• Shani's offers are now Coin based, including Cameras, Light Sticks, and other social items
• Apollo has a set of Epic Augments added
• Cassio replaces Ermal with the Nomadic Envoys, trading valuables and offering quests. Ermal is back on the trail
Quests:
• Quest and objective completion now grants XP, shown in the description and on claim
• Older photo objectives now need the new camera: The League, Reduced to Rubble, Life of a Pharmacist, Battening Down, Groundbreaking
Social:
• Fixed party join sometimes failing on Xbox game invites
• Fixed Voice Chat failing in some cases, especially on PS5 and Xbox
UI:
• Quest list sorting updated
• Fixed long Settings lists disappearing while scrolling
• Nomadic Trader offers no longer show in the Acquire Resources menu
• Emote and Quick Wheels take mouse input more smoothly
• End-of-round screen previews milestone progress and rewards from that round. Milestone updates also show in the in-round log
• Fixed recipe unlocks showing "unknown not installed" instead of an unlock, including Snap Hook, Blaze Grenade, and Crash Mat
• In-round daily quest text formatting fixed
• Store panels scroll when content runs past the screen, and the last toggle is selectable
• End of Round map now shows the round data more reliably
• Fixed closing Inventory during matchmaking disabling gamepad navigation until you change screens
VFX:
• Burning effects no longer stay stuck on other players after they end
• Fixed blocky or mismatched terrain squares on some maps at higher graphics presets
Duplicated items:
• Embark is restricting accounts holding high amounts of duplicated items and removing items gained through duplication
Known issues:
Gameplay:
• Weapon meshes can be partly invisible with attachments
• Vaulting onto destroyed ARC or similar movable surfaces can still launch or shove you, rarely
• Footsteps can go silent while shoulder swapping and sprinting
• Field Repair can be unavailable after unlock. A restart works for now, and a fix is in progress
• Tether Launcher cannot be repaired yet. Planned for an upcoming update
• Rare invisible lobby spawn: no loot, Quick Wheel, or container use, but you can still fire and take damage. Returning to Speranza should restore the loadout from before that match
• Hydra can detect and shoot through walls in the Cargo area
• Standing on the side of the Cargo drop can instantly eliminate you. A fix is in progress
Outpost:
• Most of these already have fixes planned for an upcoming Live Update
• First unlock step, Research Topside Living Conditions, needs a photo of a farmland house. Camera is at Shani, the Workbench, or Topside
• Some furniture clips through the structure
• Some slots stay unselectable when furniture blocks them
• Camera can be blocked by furniture or the character
• Main building lighting breaks with Shadow quality on Low
• Camera returns to the base room after leaving decorate view
• Sitting at a table with chairs clips through the table
• Leaving Customization view steps the Raider back after a 10 second delay
• Outpost tab has no orange dot after the first unlock objectives
Quests:
• Sizing Things Up cinematic does not trigger on completion
• Picking up the Pieces cannot be completed on Pendola Pass. It works on other maps, with a fix planned
• The Light Impact Grenades damage feat can be completed with the Hullcracker
Audio:
• Some weapons, especially the Anvil, may not play firing sounds on low-spec PCs
• Equipped Rubber Ducks can be squeezed and make noise without being thrown
UI:
• Weapon meshes sometimes partly disappear
• Recent Expedition departures can leave a Projects and Raider notification dot that does not clear
• Non-English keyboard layouts reset keybinds to default after each raid
• Expedition screen can still be opened through the Nomadic Envoys, but it does not work
• Loadout weight can differ between Speranza and in-round, and between the main menu and in-round
• Premium Reward Pass lock icons can stay on rewards after purchase
Pendola Pass:
• Various clipping and collision issues
• Vaulting some steep surfaces can slide you back down
• Vaulting onto destroyed ARC or other movable surfaces can launch or shove you

I got to play Arc Raiders Frozen Trail early, and all I can say is that this game really brings out my inner child. The new map is gorgeous, the new Arc are breathtaking, and the new weapons and gear are incredibly fun. I can't wait for the update, and here's a glimpse as to why.

Embark says they are fine if players leave ARC Raiders to play other games in-between major updates.
The team prefers to deliver substantial, game-evolving packages that give players a compelling reason to return instead of pushing low effort monthly updates.
