People say they want a nerd for a bf/gf until they realise being a nerd isn’t just video games & pop culture. It’s getting excited about the most obscure stuff, going down rabbit holes learning new things, and talking about things nobody asked about because it fascinates us. 😭
It feels like everyone just forgot all of the horrible shit Elon has done. How he’s treated his trans daughter, how he helped Trump win the election for his own gain, knowingly supporting someone who has done so much horrible shit, and is documented having involvement with Epstein. (and so has Elon)
It’s like everyone saw “ooo flashy car with thrusters can do some tricks” and suddenly decided everything else he’s done doesn’t matter anymore.
People can appreciate the engineering and give credit to the employees who actually built it, but publicly applauding Elon and his company boosts HIS public image and his company’s reputation, whether they intend to or not. A flashy product gives him a way to shift attention away from his behaviour and back onto something people will praise him for.
It's this exact bullshit that leads to people like him being able to repeatedly do horrible shit with no consequence.
As someone passionate about tech, I'm loving studying Cybersecurity. From Networking, Servers, Python, SOC and Red/Blue Teaming, it’s teaching me how everything works from the ground up. Things that once felt complex now feel easy, and I can pick up new concepts so much faster.😊
Would love input from anyone who codes. ⬇️
Experienced devs: What's unintuitive in VS Code and similar editors? What would help you keep track of things across many files or a huge codebase? What features would you love that don't currently exist in current editors? What functionality/features could be improved upon?
Learners: What would help you keep track of what your code is doing while you write it, without constantly scrolling back? What would help you remember syntax?
Coding with LLMs: What would help you follow and review what the agent changes as it happens? What would help you understand it in an intuitive way?
All quality of life features big or small, are welcome too.
I have freedom to experiment as this is my own project, so if something sounds cool and could provide something no other editor does, or improve upon something that exists, I'll happily explore it.
I've been building this entire app over the last 2 months because I found existing code editors kinda meh for learners. Will post more about it when I'm ready to, but it will cover everything you expect of a desktop IDE. UI is not final, in active development.
There are already (not shown in image) learner features like a Syntax Library, InlineAssist (relevant syntax/members based on typed characters), Context Suggestions paired with syntax explanations etc and many planned features/modules that display information that will benefit learners and experienced programmers.
This is so fucked
International Cyber Digest@IntCyberDigestSep 27Europe!
EuropeConnected via Europe App StoreLocation may be affected by a proxy or VPN.Account-level information, not a live location or per-post device.
Holy shit, Google Maps just updated its satellite view of the Gaza Strip.
If anyone has any feature requests or UI feedback my dms are open!
I especially want to focus on learner features & the ability for people who are experienced in one programming language to skill up and actively learn how their code would look in other programming languages.
