An incredible morning (with 100+ participants) at the prospective Monsanto parkrun in Portugal 🇵🇹 It's been amazing to meet David & Raquel and everyone involved in the team. We'll be working hard to make things happen here 🙏🤞#adoroparkrun

A joyous shout out for @parkrunUK - the most uplifting, accessible, everyone-welcome, non-intimidating, low hassle, free bit of community spirit, encouragement, sociability and exercise that you could wish for. 🧵...

Tonight we're sharing a very personal and hopefully inspiring story - Samantha's journey to #parkrun.
Note to Swedish running race organisers - is it not possible to organise more races on days other than Saturdays? (Yes, I know that’s when parkrun is, but it means that I have to miss parkrun to run in any race 😉). Why aren’t there more races on Sundays? Any ideas @CoachLN ?
A week’s cycling holiday in the Netherlands with the kids.
The provision for bikes in the country is just incredible. Everything done with cyclists in mind. Separate bike lanes everywhere. All ages cycling, and being able to cycle together, making it a social activity 1/3
None of this would be easy to implement in say the UK. It helps of course that Netherlands is flat. But so nice to be in a place where:
- cycling isn’t considered ‘woke’ (ridiculous…)
- bikes are planned into every development and aren’t just an afterthought
3/4
- cycling is encouraged and seen as an obvious, sensible way to get around
Interestingly car ownership levels are still pretty high in the Netherlands - seems it is possible for people to be pro-cycling but still have a car for when it’s needed

Graham Potter at Chelsea is lovely PR – but is it misdirection before the big plot twist?

As a Brit living abroad, you see and feel the negative impact of Brexit in a myriad of ways, some small, others more impactful. A few examples:
1) my beloved @langholmenfc are struggling for players for the 1st team - partly due to immigration from the UK grinding to a halt 1/n – at Upplands-Bro, Sverige
6) I’d love for my kids to study in the UK if they wanted to. But now they’d be classified as international students and pay through the nose. Fine for those rich Americans, Chinese and Indians (the ones whose kids had been put though private schools). But so expensive for us 6/n – at Upplands-Bro, Sverige

And all for what? Economic decline (obvious from the start), reduced influence, and reduced opportunities. So utterly pointless. And we saw how much sovereignty we ‘really’ have to decide our own course when the markets had their verdict on the mini budget earlier this year 10/n – at Upplands-Bro, Sverige
