JAPAN TURNS TO AI SATELLITES FOR FASTER DEFENSE RESPONSE Japan plans to develop AI-powered satellites to speed up military counterstrike decisions, Nikkei reports. The Defense Ministry will work with Japanese companies to build test satellites between fiscal 2027 and 2029. Launches are planned for fiscal 2030 or later to test their capabilities in space.
