Ann Thompson’s well-deserved retirement celebration was held Sept. 23 at the home of Pat Kochanek. Ann stepped down from her roles as Vice Dean of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Distinguished Service Professor of Critical Care Medicine & Pediatrics on Oct 1.

January 27 is National Thank Your Mentor Day. I hesitate to list names as I will leave someone off. Suffice to say I've been privileged to be taught by giants of the field as a young trainee/junior faculty, and to continue to be taught by senior and junior colleagues since.
