Removing hearing protection for just five minutes in an hour will reduce the protection achieved by more than half. It is therefore critical that workers are made aware of the consequencies of removing their hearing protection even for short periods. Have you told them?

There aren't many workplaces that stay the same over time e.g. in terms of equipment, substances or procedures. Changes can lead to new hazards, so it makes sense to review your risk assessment on a regular basis. Check your risk assessment regularly, and update it.
