Deloitte's 7th annual Scale-Ups Confidence Survey gathered insights from 498 start-ups and scale-ups across seven EMEA markets.
As our Strategy & Transactions Partner, Kyriacos Charalambides, states: “The responses of the Middle Eastern scale-ups surveyed, show a strong focus on capital raising as high growth businesses are actively seeking to secure equity investment from the region’s maturing venture capital network, despite the felt impact on valuation due to changing economic conditions. In general, scale ups in the Middle East compared to their European peers appear to rely less on subsidies and grants. At the same time, the region’s scale ups remain confident and are looking to increase headcount to sustain their growth, whilst appearing to face challenges from limited diversity in the talent pool available for scaling up and internationalising.”
