Just want to boast that a typical del.icio.us page is 3.2 KB in size and loads in a quarter of a second. We had the technology.
If you work at Yahoo! corporate and are feeling nostalgic, my DMs are open. Let the great Wheel of Acquisition turn again
Alternatively, I'm open to acquiring Yahoo on fair terms, especially if you still have the remaining del.icio.us bookmarks.
If you were able to log in to del.icio.us but only saw a blank page, this bug should now be fixed (it was due to the PHP type checker freaking out at untitled bookmarks)
Delicious should now be back up in read-only mode, for those who can remember their password. You can export your bookmarks or link them with a Pinboard account. -> del.icio.us
An announcement about the long-term future of Delicious: starting this fall, the site will offer free bookmarking to K-12 teachers worldwide
The site should finally be stable and running (in read-only mode) again. Apologies to everyone who had to endure server failures!

And the Soul of a New Machine by Tracy Kidder (1981, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_So…) is the classic hardware story for good reasons - read it too!
I also recommend The Eudaemonic Pie by Thomas A. Bass (1985, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eu…), an exciting story about a difficult hardware project.
Write them down, even if you can't publish them since they're too fresh, and save them for ten years from now and check again if you can.
If you like software stories, go read folklore.org/index.py - the Folklore site is wonderful and inspiring. Please write your own too!
If you worked on Delicious in any era and you're interested in writing a post or two with me, DM me! I'd love to include more perspectives.
