Joe Biden has been the greatest president of my lifetime. What he has done to defeat Covid, lower health costs, improve infrastructure, reduce poverty, create jobs, reduce inflation, and strengthen NATO is incomparable.
I’m confident President Harris will be a great President too. I proudly support her, and I know she will listen to Joe’s good counsel. She is smart; she is tough; she has a good heart and good values.
Now Democrats need to unite and work out tails off to elect her!

This is one of the laws passed by the Virginia General Assembly *with bipartisan support* in 2020.
Executive fiat does not overrule state law, as the Governor found out earlier this year.

It's not just the 14th Amendment. It's "lex specialis," the ancient doctrine requiring the specific budget law to trump non-specific debt ceiling law.

But the judiciary is required by the ancient legal canon of lex specials to ignore the debt ceiling because it conflicts with the budget. (I emailed you details about this.) No judge could uphold the debt ceiling against the budget without overturning long-standing precedent.
