Van Jones called out an antisemitic political ad blaming Israel for Americans struggling to afford groceries.
Speaking on CNN, Jones pointed out that annual U.S. aid to Israel amounts to less than 0.1% of the federal budget.
He also highlighted the dangerous double standard: The U.S. spends money in countries around the world, but this ad singles out the Jewish state as the reason American families are struggling.
Debating foreign aid is fair game. Blaming Israel for Americans' financial struggles is something else entirely.
As Jones warned, blaming Jews for society's problems is an old and dangerous pattern. History has shown us where it can lead.
