We are thrilled that our @Researchirel funded research is being recognized by international experts! Congratulations to @DeirdreWinrow for winning the Excellent Poster Award at the Anti-helminthics VI meeting in Toronto, Canada! 🥳 We are very proud of you, Deirdre!
Our research assistant @DeirdreWinrow is enjoying the Anti-helminthics VI meeting in Toronto, Canada where she’s presenting her poster on Sm16, an immunomodulatory S. mansoni-secreted peptide with vaccine and biotherapeutic potential, and creatively helping presenters keep time!
The amount of harmful nonsense that people with all sorts of conditions are bombarded with is truly frustrating to me as both a biologist and a patient. Nice to see a sensible counterpoint gaining some traction!
Don’t believe everything you see. This video by @thehappypear says that mushrooms reduce your risk of getting #breastcancer. This is NOT true.

Do you know how bad you have to be at science to think that a mask does not block a virus but does block oxygen and carbon dioxide?

This, while good news, should not be mistaken as a solution for doctor shortages.
We already train more doctors per capita than most. They just don't stay here because (louder for those in the back) CONDITIONS ARE REALLY BAD. Training for export.

greenways are great but in my opinion, safe urban infrastructure *on* city streets should be the priority. no point being able to safely cycle (on a winding off-road route) if the final half mile to the shops gets you turned to mulch by an articulated lorry
As fuel prices soar will more people choose pedal power? Cormac Campbell has been finding out just how viable an option that is in Northern Ireland.

Way too many non-chronically ill people think they're not sick because they found the magic formula and lived their life "right", rather than simply not losing the chronic illness lottery (so far), and it shows

Can I once again suggest that the freed up capacity in PCR testing now be made available once again to younger age groups. This change to testing was to accommodate the over-demand for testing..With demand decreasing there is no rationale to keep this in place @HSELive #PCRTest – at Dublin City, Ireland
Replying to @RobOHanrahan
Rob it would be great if they used the freed up capacity in PCR testing for school kids. This would support parents and possibly impact on school transmission by highlighting cases earlier than antigen testing. Also decrease need for parents to buy antigen tests!
