Too many players will start fall baseball just like they finished summer baseball. Weak and Undersized. It's a damn shame. Players You can't gain weight because you're not eating enough calories and you're not lifting hard enough. It's as simple as that. 6000 calories per day should be the goal. Schools are not recruiting undersized weak kids. Stop with the excuses and get to work. Being undersized (nothing to do with your height) and weak, advertises loud and clear, you're lazy and the game of baseball doesn't mean a lot to you. Try eating 2 hard boiled eggs and 16 ounces of vitamin D chocolate milk every night before bed and see what happens. Stop with the excuses, nobody wants to hear them. Be relentless and get it done in the weight room and with caloric intake.

I had a great time at the Senior Futures Games. As a team we were 3-0, Team MoKan was a great bunch of guys to hang out and play with. Personally I was 3-8 with a triple, 2 stolen bases, and made the only play that came my way over the 3 games. It felt good to face pitching from 90-94. That wraps up the summer play for me. Now time to transition to getting stronger and faster. @PrepBaseballMO @sobocobaseball @RoyalsScoutTeam

6’5”- 210lb - RHP- 2027- MO My final outing for the @RoyalsScoutTeam went well! Put a lot of emphasis on the 2 seam and off speed. Helped the team to an 11-1 win over a solid Indiana Bulls team. @FlatgroundApp @PG_Uncommitted
‘27 RHP Wyatt Libbert (MO) tossed a gem. 5 innings, 5 H & a walk. Only allowed one run & Kd 6. Worked upper 80s (T89) & showed some feel to spin @ 74-77. Uptempo delivery & synced up. #UBCMW @PGMidwestBB @RoyalsScoutTeam

I have “T Ball” games for V and JV quite often. Why? Gets players hitting thinking about where they would like to hit the ball given the base runner situation. Also makes sure that every swing produces a defensive possibility. Kids have a blast playing it. We bat twice through each group, clearing the bases after 3 outs made. Each team (min 5 hitters) keeps their score. Winners don’t have to help with equipment cleanup that day.
Tee Ball One of my favorite games to have the players play. It’s always funny to hear the groans and comments from the first timers. Interesting to hear kids say “tee’s are for little kids!” Haha! But when we explain how the game will go, boy do their eyes light up!! I know some out there have their own versions of this but here’s how we’ve done it: • Depending on the number of players, break them up into 2, 3 or even 4 teams. • Each inning or team rotate, players need to go to a different position. • Each play starts with the pitcher. Pitcher makes sure everyone is ready, goes through delivery throwing an imaginary pitch (ball is on a tee at home plate) and the hitter tracks it and swings to hit the ball. **Very important to not let the hitter hit until this happens. Have seen kids hit the ball when defense wasn’t ready. Safety first! • Play it live from there. • Play straight up or force situations. • We’ve played no steals unless it’s a hit and run with the hitter trying to hit the ball to the right side. • Hitters work on proper tee placement based on where they want to hit it (have a coach at home plate asking them what the goal is). • Baserunners always working on good primary and secondary leads, aggressive turns, thinking two out of the box on ball to outfield, going 1st to 3rd or 2nd to home. • Pitchers working PFP and backing up. • Etc. Etc. Kids love it. It’s fast paced and you can cover a lot in an hour. Have fun and feel free to ask any questions.

Players: Want to get noticed? Recruited? have more post HS opportunities? Then be different. I mean truly different. Got to be willing to set yourself apart, in more ways than just your physical tools. It starts by being willing to read this long post and then let it marinate into your game …. Tools get noticed, yes. But so do many other things. Things that players don’t seem to understand the importance of. College coaches, now more than ever, want players who can drop the tired acts…. The show… and be “a baseball player”… not just someone who “plays baseball.” There is a big difference… What does that mean? In summer ball… Come to the field looking like a player. Leave the crocks for the beach. Wear uniform correctly. Take out headphones when doing team activities. Put phone away all game and then… take pride in your warm-up routine, pregame hitting routine, stretching, and throwing routines. Regardless of what your teammates are doing and what they might think!!! Take pride in your between inning reps. Everything matters. Play the game with energy and focus. Be a great teammate. Keep your focus on your team and winning. Yes, winning matters. Coaches want winners. Players who bring that edge win at the next level. Playing to win requires focus, intensity, hunger. Anyone can play when it does not matter who wins…. There is very little pressure in that arena. Right now we live in a world of showcase tooled players (throw hard, hit hard/far, run fast, etc.), but they don’t know how to play the game. Get noticed, by demonstrating high baseball IQ and situational awareness. Hustle on and off the field. Control your emotions when you fail and bounce back on the next pitch…. and when you succeed… act like you have done it before… old school style. Yea… I promise you will get noticed. Call me old and outdated. You would have the old part right. As far as knowing what wins, I put my money on what I stated in this tweet! Hear me clearly, genuine emotion is cool. Strike out 16 in a 7 inning game, throw a no hitter, hit a walk off bomb… authentic emotion is cool. However, the staring down opponents, dancing around the mound or bases with the “look at me” focus is a tired act. If you are elite tooled, someone will still take a chance on you. But you might not get all the opportunities you should. And for the rest of the players, you become just another tired act. In the end, college baseball is about winning. That’s what the coaches are paid to do. They get fired when they don’t win. So ask yourself “what do I do that sets me apart from the rest of the baseball players on this planet?” The answer better be… “I have tools that match that level and I have make-up that wins.” “I’m not like the others.” So start now: become the player that is different. The one who cares. The one who plays the game right. The one who respects the game and opponents. The one who wins!!! The one colleges are looking desperately for. @DirtBroUSA

Had a great time the past two days at the Missouri State Games. I know I ran a 6.32 60 and was 2-2 with a triple and stolen base in the game on Mizzou's field (video of the triple). More metrics will be posted within 48 hours. Excited to join the Royals Scout Team tomorrow at the Prep Baseball KC Summer Classic. We play at 10:20 and 12:40 on Homefield #6. @PrepBaseballMO @RoyalsScoutTeam @sobocobaseball
