Nifty 50. 10 YEARS. 10 GREEN CANDLES.
From 2016 to 2025, Nifty 50 closed every single year in the green.
Not one red yearly candle.
But 2026 is threatening to end that streak.
Can Nifty pull off a comeback, or is the longest green streak about to break?

Here's something interesting.
After Nifty's previous five red years since 2000, the following year ended green in four cases.
Does that mean a red 2026 would guarantee a green 2027?
Absolutely not.
Five observations are too few to predict the future.
But they remind us that one year's performance doesn't define the market's longer-term direction.
Will 2026 break Nifty's 10-year green streak?
Two levels are worth watching:
22,182: The 2026 low cited so far.
26,130: The level Nifty needs to cross for a positive calendar year.
For traders, the price action around these levels matters.
For long-term investors, one yearly candle is only part of a bigger picture.

SEBI heard traders' concerns around CAS!
Sudden indicative price swings.
Heavy F&O activity near closing.
Questions around expiry-day settlement.
Traders had concerns after CAS was introduced.
Now, SEBI has announced changes.
And the old 30-minute VWAP is making a comeback!
But what exactly changed?

And it's not just the settlement price!
Here's the revised schedule:
3:30 PM: Continuous cash trading ends.
3:30–3:40 PM: Closing Auction Session.
3:45 PM: Stock derivatives trading ends.
But there's an important exception.
Expiring index derivatives will stop trading at 3:30 PM on expiry day.
CAS will also have a shorter transition period and a random auction closure between 3:38 and 3:40 PM.
CAS isn't going away. It's getting revised.
The new framework takes effect from December 7, 2026.
The provisions for carrying pending limit and iceberg orders into CAS take effect from February 8, 2027.
For F&O traders, three things matter:
1️⃣Expiry settlement returns to 30-minute VWAP.
2️⃣Trading hours are changing.
3️⃣Expiring index derivatives close at 3:30 PM.
SEBI has acted on the feedback. But will these changes make expiry-day trading smoother?
