Some vidvans say "do not ask bhagavAn for this or that, you must not recite sahasranama for worldly benefits". All this is incorrect. You can even chant ashtAkshara or dvayam for worldly wealth. None of us have that level of vairAgya and it is permitted by shAstra.

True but no problems at all asking him for worldly wealth. Sudhama did & he was a bhAgavata. We are not even equal to the dust of his feet though he is aishvaryArti. As bhagavAn says in gIta "उदारा: सर्व" - all who resort to me alone for even petty goals are generous

Bit funny that 9 days of durgA lead to worship of rAma, when her Ishta was krishna. shAstra is often like that. It prescribes rAma mantra for wealth when rAma renounced everything for the forest and gopAla mantra for progeny, when krishna deprived devakI of his own childhood!
May the great Rama bless us this beautiful day of Vijayadasami.

Only time she agreed to speak about her own greatness was when Indra afflicted by Durvasa's curse, insisted on hearing it. Lakshmi Tantra is the most celebrated part of Pancharatra- it is a rare self-glorification of Devi revealing many rahasyas related to her strength & glory.
Mahalakshmi is the source of the prowess of goddesses skilled in battle, the knowledge of sarasvatI and the ability of pArvatI to curse offenders. brahmA purANa says she is Adi Shakti and her powers are limitless. Yet, she displays none of this and always has a gentle demeanor.

Illiterate jeeta, try reading what you post. She doesn't have the permission to burn Lanka. That's why she didn't attack any rakshasas. That's the gist of Sita's character. She's merciful. That's why demonesses bow down to her with reverence after the dream.

This is the attitude why there is little creativity and more of laziness. We have a rich culture of kavyas, natakas, sculpting and literature associated with the fine arts. Instead of getting inspired by ancient ingenuity, they take the lazy route and people like you accept it.

This is a 2000s forum thread. Discussed and closed case files. Both audience and him accepted this as facts and moved beyond to see what his music is about. Also what's original in art, especially with AI around.

He even copied a black metal song from Dimmu Borgir - "Sons of Satan Gather for Attack". I was shocked when I heard it on TV one day in that Arunachalam movie lol. Listen to the opener of that song, and you will know.

शबरैर्बर्बरैश्चैव पुलिन्दैश्च सुपूजिता is purely metaphorical. Shabaras are forest dwellers- signify karma yogIs who "dwell" in the forest of Veda (nishkAma karmas). Barbaras speak unintelligible language. Signify jnAna yogIs who meditate on jIvAtma that is not easily described+
Harivaṁśa frequently depicts Devī (Āryā/Ēkānaṁśā/Vindhyavāsinī) as the dweller of every mountain (सर्वपर्वतवासिनीम्), of unsafe, wild geographies (नदीतीरेषु...कान्तारेषु भयेषु च), and as the patroness of bandits, tribes and outcastes (शबरैर्बर्बरैश्चैव पुलिन्दैश्च सुपूजिता...).

Pulindas dwell in both forests and mountains - refer to bhakti yogIs who meditate on Brahman using the brahma vidyAs - paravidyAs that are the crest of Veda (like mountain peaks). And also perform karma yoga (forest dwelling) as accessory//

ADD: Saying she herself dwells in every mountain can be literal, but a better meaning is that she herself meditates on various guNAs of Brahman which constitute the paravidyA//

Watching Dopesick, pretty good series. I really like it when miniseries go the corporate fraud/courtroom trial setting, makes for tight pacing.

There is an interesting difference in the Acharya-Shishya relationship between the 2 ithihAsAs. In rAmAyaNa, the AchArya is always more glorified than the shishya. IE, he is the one who does so much for the benefit of the shishya, that his greatness is extolled+

Even when balarAma cursed bhIma जिह्मयोधीति लोके ऽस्मिन् ख्यातिं यास्यति पाण्डवः, it was to ensure he avoided the worse punishment of naraka for killing duryodhana, a prapanna, by adharma+

Thus, the tAtparya is - as the yugAs deteriorate, even sharaNAgati deteriorated due to weaker intellect of people. But AchAryAbhimAna not only remained a dependable upAya for even alpa-buddhis, but shone even brighter.//
