An Iranian cruise missile struck a ship in the Strait of Hormuz two weeks ago, injuring eight U.S. Marines.
They suffered smoke inhalation and possible traumatic brain injuries with concussion-like symptoms but were not seriously hurt according to 3 U.S. officials.
This comes at a time where U.S. forces have been helping to facilitate the safe passage of vessels crossing the Strait of Hormuz from Iranian drone and missile attacks.
