Twenty-five years after Australia commenced operations in Afghanistan, we pause to honour all who served. More than 35,000 Australians answered the call to serve. We remember the 47 Australians who lost their lives as a result of their service, acknowledge those who were wounded, and recognise the enduring contribution of veterans and families. Their professionalism, courage and sacrifice remain an enduring part of our nation's story.
