Our November Dump starts with a special recap from Decred Africa鈥檚 very own, Philemon Ukane (@behindtextdev) who travelled 3,200 km to represent the ecosystem at the Africa Blockchain Festival (ABF) in Kigali, Rwanda.

We've been talking a lot about bringing Decred to more people across Africa, but there's another side to that conversation.
We also want to hear from people already building here.
What problems are African Web3 developers struggling to solve?
Is it funding, access to the right tools, finding people to work with, or getting their projects noticed?
We're interested in hearing what builders actually need, not just what people assume they need.
If you're building something in Africa's Web3 space, tell us what you're working on.
We'd love to connect.

The next wave of crypto adoption in Africa won't happen through X posts alone People need opportunities to ask question, see how things work and meet the people building these projects
Thats one reason we're taking Decred into more conversations and events across the continent
We want more African developers, traders and everyday crypto users to know what Decred offers, from privacy tools to decentralised trading.
There's still a lot of work to do, and we're looking forward to it.

A lot of people in Africa are getting into crypto, but most conversations still revolve around which coin to buy or what might pump next.
There's more to crypto than that
For example, how many people actually check who makes decisions in a project or how its funds are managed?
One thing we want to see more in Africa's Web3 space is people actually using the technology, not just talking about token prices.
Decred has been building for years, with tools like DCRDEX that allow people to trade cryptocurrencies without handing custody of their funds .
But having the technology is only part of the work.
People need to know it exists, understand how it works and have a reason to try it.
That's why we're putting more effort into connecting with builders and communities across Africa.
What would make you consider using a decentralised exchange instead of a centralised one?

Decred is making its way into more important conversations across Africa.
Today, Decred Africa was represented at the Africa Blockchain Festival (ABF) in Nairobi, Kenya. 馃嚢馃嚜
It was a great opportunity to connect with builders, industry leaders and people actively shaping the future of blockchain on the continent As the crypto space prepares for its next major market cycle, we believe Decred needs to be present in rooms where real connections are made
Getting more people across Africa familiar with Decred, what it stands for and what it has built is part of that journey.
Today was another step in that direction. Glad we could be part of it

A blockchain can be decentralised and still struggle to fund its own development.
So who pays the developers when there's no company running things?
Decred has an interesting approach to this.馃憞
A portion of every block reward goes into a treasury that helps fund development and other work approved by stakeholders.
That is network has a way to support its own growth without depending entirely on donations or outside investors.
For African builders, it's a funding model worth paying attention to.
Could something similar work for more Web3 projects in Africa?

Ever wondered what happens when someone submits a proposal to Decred? It doesn't go straight to a vote.
Through Politeia, proposals are published for the community to read, question and discuss before stakeholders decide whether to support them.
