Introducing Immutable Audience: the growth engine for pre-launch Steam games.
(btw we didn’t spend $50k on a viral launch agency - so if you think this is cool just share it for free i guess)
Game marketing is broken.
Every year PC studios spend billions to grow their games, and yet:
- they don’t know which channels are actually working
- only a fraction of wishlist sources can be tracked
- of those people who DO wishlist games, the rate of those who go on to purchase is falling
After 8 years building games ourselves, and working with over 700 studios, the need for something new was obvious.
So, we built Audience.
How it works:
1. Audience pulls in real time data from your players across Steam, social media, ad platforms, influencers and more
2. It stores this marketing data in your player CRM, and uses our Enhanced Attribution to identify the one channel driving 80% of your wishlists
3. Finally, it generates a custom growth audit, reviewing your real time data against winning strategies from hundreds of games to identify the most effective ways to get you wishlists each week
During Audience’s beta we’ve already seen incredible results.
We helped one game grow by over 300k wishlists in 2 months, and then more than *doubled* the rate of those players who converted into paying customers, compared to relying on Steam alone.
For the last few months the team at @Immutable has been heads down building.
We’re incredibly grateful to our community for your support as we onboard the world. Slowly, then all at once.
To celebrate the launch, we’re offering one month of Audience for free to any studio that signs up by commenting on this video.
And for the first 100 studios that comment, we’ll create you a custom growth plan for free.
Comment “Audience” and we’ll send it through.
LFG
Announcement:
As of today, Immutable Play is now open to all games, including those from web2.
The first studio to join will be @Ubisoft.
When we launched Play last year, our goal was to solve the biggest problem for games: growing an audience. Since then, we’ve scaled to +5.6m wallets, and helped dozens of live games find their users.
As we’ve grown, so has the demand from web2 games. These studios spend over $300B a year on pre-launch UA, and seeing how much more efficient and retentive our rewards strategy is, they’ve inevitably wanted to get involved.
Now they can.
From today, all games that meet our quality bar can reward their users through Immutable Play.
This will give our players access to some of the biggest franchises in the world. It will bring their multi-million user bases to our ecosystem, where they'll discover our existing games.
Every game that uses Immutable Play is one step closer to adopting Passport, creating NFTs and launching a token. This is how we “soft onboard” the next 10,000 games from web2.
The first step is Ubisoft, with their 200 million UbiConnect players.
And there is so, so much more to come.

It is now time for an actual degen arc. I am relinquishing the name Polygon Greg, and from here on out, I will go by Steady Greg. @steadyteddys
believe the rumours!!
Might and magic coming to @Immutable
If the rumours are true, this would be huge.
IMX announced they were cooking with @Ubisoft back in 2023.
This might be the first major IP from a AAA studio shipping onchain👀

2 years ago we announced we were partnering with @Ubisoft. Thrilled to finally be able to reveal the outcome of our biggest partnership yet: we’re launching Might & Magic Fates with @Ubisoft - and it’s coming this year.
Might & Magic is one of the largest & longest-running gaming franchises in the world:
>millions of global players
>40 years of IP
>millions in funding
>developed by the studio behind Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance, Far Cry, + more
With Ubisoft Connect’s 138M+ users, we’re expecting MAU growth that will make the last few years look like a footnote.
And this is just stage 1 of the partnership.
More details coming soon.
Stay tuned, because we’re not stopping until Immutable games are played by 1B+ people worldwide.

When you look at how sweeping government policy can drastically tank global markets overnight, really makes you feel good to be working in #web3 🥰

a couple of thoughts from GDC ... had 20+ meetings with both Web2/Web3
spoiler alert: web3 gaming is not dead, I believe its next evolution will look different though
consensus that attendance was significantly down, sign of the times with the industry struggling? SF is a deterrent?
we are going to see a lot more studios run out of funding and closing down - limited $ being deployed by VCs even the highest quality projects in the space are struggling to close their rounds at reasonable valuations
3 of the the most well known names in web3 gaming are taking a web2.5 approach - distancing themselves from any web3 features when launching, want to prove they have PMF + can make unit economics work for scale and then will naturally progress to introducing web3 elements into the game... they see it as a natural value add to their most engaged players + potential for deep monetisation
we have some high quality projects launching over the next 6-18 months and the space needs a winner - this will be the big unlock for more funding
web native games are coming back, console quality instantly accessible on any device + direct distribution (sounds nice)... advancements with WebGPU, WADSM, HTML 5 and increasing power of on-device GPU driven by AI adoption
@project_o_gg was the talk of the town - was great to get to spend some quality time with the team, legends!
lots of love for @RavenQuestGame perfectly executed launch
goes without saying that UA is broken and it's ripe for disruption - large % budget allocations going to experimental/alternative platforms to drive UA. RUA (rewarded user acquisition) platforms are popping up everywhere. Spoke to a large web2 studio (focused on casual) who turned off AppLovin and is now spending >$2m a month on these alternative platforms
^^^ I think web3 mechanics + incentives have the ability to win in the above space if executed correctly
the typical token playbook is dying/dead - product first, then token (potential use case for apptokens, I missed
@gabrielleydon talk, unfortunately)
some really good food in SF - Mexican everyday but my favourite spot was tsunamipanhandle.com
🤝
