Terry wrote this to a friend in 1979: “It took cancer to realize that being self-centered is not the way to live. The answer is to try and help others.” Register to fundraise for cancer research today terryfox.org/run

#OnThisDay - Sept. 2, 1980 - Thunder Bay Terry’s parents arrive, and Terry is bowed but not broken. “I’ve got cancer in my lungs... all I can say is that if there is any way I can get out there and finish, I will.” Even then, Terry had hope. Donate: terryfox.org/donate/

Today’s training walk took me past a fairy tale cottage. #TerryFoxRun #TerryFox

After a busy day yesterday, my coach @kirkjaques had me take it easy today. Widget and I did some yoga. This is the first pose she taught me the day we brought her home. “Run around till exhausted, then fall asleep with your paws in the air.”

I really liked this tree trunk in the park - it almost looks like it’s part of the living tree behind it. #TerryFox #TerryFoxRum

My coach @kirkjaques had me out for a short walk today - pretty muggy so we did just under a mile. 😁 #TerryFox #TerryFoxRun

No walk today. We had a couple errands to run, and when we got home, my coach @kirkjaques told me I had to have a nap. Widget was in favour of this plan. #TerryFox #TerryFoxRun #LittleMissWidget

No training walk today, but Widget and I did some yoga. She taught me a few new poses; yellow Tweety bird optional. #TerryFox #TerryFoxRun #LittleMissWidget

Cool and cloudy today, with some rain - much better temperature for walking. #TerryFox #TerryFoxRun

My coach @kirkjaques was on set today, so I did my training walk on my own - just over 2 miles. There may have been a detour. 😂 #TryLikeTerry #CantLetHerOutAlone

After two days off because of the heat, my coach @kirkjaques had me training again today. Our walk took us by my favourite neighbourhood sign. #TryLikeTerry

Today is the Terry Fox Trek. We know Canadians across the country will be virtually climbing their own version of Mt. Terry Fox using our interactive new App. terryfox.org/app/ Terry faced many uphill climbs on his Marathon of Hope, what will yours be today? #TryLikeTerry

It was quite warm today, so I went for a walk this evening when it cooled down a bit. This is another of the beautiful homes in the neighbourhood. #TryLikeTerry #NewWestminster #LoveMyNeighbourhood
Since I did a long walk yesterday, I took the day off today. Widget and I did some yoga. Her favourite pose is “Lay on the Fluffy Blanket and Sleep.” #TryLikeTerry #LittleMissWidget

My coach @kirkjaques was busy on set today, so I went for a walk by myself. “Somehow” I wandered off my route and ended up at Starbucks. #TryLikeTerry #Supernatural terryfox.ca/DebJaques
