James Talarico's closing statement:
You may have noticed that I haven't talked about my opponent at all tonight, because I don't want people to vote just against Ken Paxton. I want them to vote for me. I want them to know my values and my vision.
But we are running against the most corrupt politician in Texas. Since taking office, Paxton has increased his net worth by $27 million. He now owns 15 homes. We have an opportunity to defeat him and this entire corrupt system.

As an ER doctor I can't stress enough how effective Mayor Chow has been to eliminate delays reaching 911. When she came to office it was up to 26 minutes. It's now down to 3 seconds. 3 seconds. That's effective leadership.

I’m thankful to have my boys under one roof; for the health of my family and friends; for the generosity of heart and spirit I have seen this year in people all across Ontario; for the tireless dedication of my team; and for the opportunity to serve the people of Etobicoke—Lakeshore as your MPP.
There is so much to be grateful for, and I don’t take any of it for granted.
From our family to yours, I wish you and your loved ones a very happy Thanksgiving.

Yet another example of overreach and wasteful spending by the Ford PC government.
At least $48 million of Ontario taxpayer money to destroy bike lanes in Toronto - your hard-earned dollars that should be spent on healthcare, housing and public transit instead. #onpoli

This is phenomenal. As someone who’s been advocating for the OLP to get real bold on housing for a long time, I’m really impressed by this plan. This is a huge piece to winning the youth vote.
@LFairclo has my support - she’ll be a fantastic leader, and hopefully Premier!
Homeownership is out of reach for too many young people and families.
Too many people are spending more of their paycheque just to keep up with their rent or mortgage and homelessness is rising.
Every Ontarian deserves an affordable place they can call home and to stay safely housed. Here is my plan to deliver on that promise.

Doug Ford’s government was warned about possible suspicious OSAP activity at some private colleges in 2023 and again in 2024.
Instead of acting quickly to investigate and address the problem, his government let it grow. And when the problem became too big to ignore, they responded by cutting OSAP for all students across Ontario.
When it came to protecting OSAP, Ford just passed the buck - then punished students across Ontario for his own failures. #onpoli

Remember - She’s rough, she’s tough she’s Lee Fairclough for @OntLiberal leader!!
MPP Lee Fairclough keeps chugging away, leading @OntLiberal leadership in total donors (1100+), total $200+ donors, consistent donor growth. @fordnation will be beat by the broad support & unstoppable growth of "I'm rough and I'm tough and my name's Fairclough". See for yourself:

It works and we’re expanding it — with a third location in Toronto.

Report: Ontario spent $4 billion over 8 years on private facility funding, which has been increasing faster than funding for hospitals. The effect on wait times? They’re rising. ctvnews.ca/toronto/article/w… @CTVNews

As Lee travels the province and meets Ontarians, it’s clear: when people get to know Lee, they choose her to lead the Ontario Liberal Party.
If we want to turn the page on the PC government, we need someone who can draw in new voters from across the political spectrum.
Someone who can inspire people to get involved, and build a party that can grow.
That leader is Lee Fairclough.

I’ve led a multi-million dollar hospital through a pandemic, flipped a Conservative riding, represented Canada at the 1998 Women's Rugby World Cup, and now hold Doug Ford to account everyday at Queen’s Park.
I know how to build strong teams, and deliver results. Together we are building a people-powered campaign across Ontario to turn the page on this Conservative government. Join us.

More compelling data on the serious harms of online gambling since it was privatized.
Let’s see if the newly appointed Minister for gaming @zeemilton will take it seriously. He and the conservatives voted against my Bill to Stop Advertising for Online Gambling Act.

Gambling addiction is placing pressure on our hospitals. Emergency Department visits increased 154% among males 10-29 compared to what researchers would have expected if the Ford Conservatives had not opened up the gambling market.
This is the natural consequence of gambling advertising being everywhere in our public spaces. It has made gambling far too accessible. This advertising needs to end.
In May, I tabled a bill to end advertising for online gambling that was voted down by this Conservative government.

I want to thank @LFairclo for signing our pledge. It's clear she comes by it honestly, with party renewal a key section of her platform.
With that, a majority of @OntLiberal leadership candidates have now signed the @NewLeafLiberal pledge for party renewal.
Lee Fairclough is the third signatory of our Pledge for Party Renewal!
"I believe the voice of every Ontario Liberal matters and that supporting every Ontario Liberal makes us stronger. Openness, transparency, and local empowerment to connect with communities: that is what it will take to bring change to Ontario."
