Thank you! Question for US news media — Why is a Canadian journalist doing the consistently best job in calling out @realDonaldTrump ‘s lies? #ImpeachDonaldTrumpNOW #TrumpLies

The Cornell story wasn’t broken by CNN or The New York Times. It was broken by a student journalist. Reminder: your title does not determine your impact. Your preparation, instincts, and willingness to act do.

So impressive!
Her name is Cereese Qusba. She’s a student journalist at The Cornell Daily Sun, and she spent nearly TWO YEARS pursuing the story of the alleged gang rape at Cornell when much of the campus had moved on. She built trust with Jane Doe. She kept digging. And when the lawsuit was filed, she was ready. Now the case has a special prosecutor and national attention. This is why journalism matters. Give Cereese Qusba her flowers.

WTF
As Americans can't afford gas or groceries, this is what Marco Rubio was doing today.... Unveiling new GOLD packaging that the government will use to mail new Passports to us in, instead of USPS envelopes.

“United States” is spelled incorrectly on the White House’s agreement with AI executives:

“To the ICE agent who took away my mother: I hope it was worth it,” Samuel wrote. “I can’t handle anymore injustices in this world.”
Please read my latest. Samuel struggled with depression and schizophrenia but had just started seeing a therapist and taking medication. Then his mother was detained by ICE. It became too much to bear. latimes.com/politics/story/2…

Political fortunes can change rapidly, sometimes in mere hours. Early this morning, GOP Senator Eric Schmitt of Missouri landed an Axios news mention that he's "seen as a top prospect to become a potential 2028 running mate" for J.D. Vance. Just hours later, Schmitt is now going down in congressional history with one of the most embarrassing moments ever witnessed in a hearing. You see, Schmitt was questioning Jack Smith, the former federal prosecutor tasked with investigating Trump back in the day. The GOP has long tried to nail Mr. Smith for impropriety. So, Schmitt asks Jack Smith if he's ever attended an Atlanta Hawks game. The Hawks are the NBA team in Atlanta, of course. Smith and everyone watching are like: "Huh?" It then becomes clear that Schmitt is trying to claim that Smith colluded with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis against Trump. Schmitt's claim here rested on his belief that Smith had attended an Atlanta Hawks game -- basically, he's in Atlanta and swings by at some point to chat with Willis. So, Jack Smith is sitting there VERY confused (along with the rest of us) as Schmitt keeps questioning him about this Atlanta Hawks game. Smith is certain he hasn't attended such a game, and he's not even sure he's been in Atlanta outside of a connection stop at the airport. Schmitt, during all this, claims Smith has perjured himself. It turns out... Smith had attended an Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball game to see Caitlin Clark and team play against the University of Maryland -- in Maryland. Schmitt and his team had compiled this accusation against Smith and somehow, no one in this bunch of fucking clowns had realized they were confusing the Atlanta Hawks (a men's pro team) with the Iowa Hawkeyes (a women's college basketball team). This all gets revealed during Sen. Klobuchar's time during the hearing, and she takes the moment to question her colleague Schmitt and allow him to clear the air over the obvious confusion. Schmitt, very embarrassed at this point, as he should be, gets quite pissed and starts shouting in the hearing about being questioned. You know what? I think he's the perfect running mate for Vance in 2028. Bless his heart.

JB Pritzker: “We are all being lied to every single day. We’re under siege right now. Not by immigrants, not by protesters, not by the deep state, not by Canada or Mexico or Greenland, not by Antifa or communists or Jewish space lasers or pride parades, not by Politico or MS NOW or CNN. We are under siege by a petty corrupt narcissist in Washington who ran for president because he wanted to rig the system to enrich himself”

In Trump’s vulgar world of oligarchy, greed and corruption, he wants to cut off student loans for these majors because he doesn't think graduates will earn enough: Teaching Social work Art Counseling Religious studies Music Pathetic!

The reflecting pool is empty and blocked off. The Kennedy Center is completely boarded up. The East Wing is in ruins, and the White House looks like a tacky, cheap Vegas whorehouse with all the fake gold laminate. The visual decay in D.C. says everything you need to know about the current state of our country.

There were 57 young men in that Cornell U fraternity group chat & not one of them alerted cops the night they were all invited to participate in an active gangrape... not even anonymously. That's 57 moms & 57 dads who failed miserably at the most important job they'll ever have.

Why do Americans pay so much for healthcare, childcare, web service, college, and other 21st Century needs? Because the GOP made a conscious decision 45 years ago to gut the social contract. It’s no coincidence that Harry Truman called the GOP The Guardians Of Privilege.

SHUT DOWN ALL FRATERNITIES! They are bad news on every campus!
"She was going to a frat house, she knew what she was going to get." Oh yeah? If that's what frat houses are for, close them all entirely, immediately.

Kudos to the student journalists at The Cornell Daily Sun. This is why journalism matters, at all levels. Keep shining a light on the darkest corners of power.

Just a reminder that the only reason we know about Cornell is because the victim is brave enough to relive that nightmare, knowing she’ll likely have her reputation dragged through the mud. And the only reason we are not resting until Nolan Wells gets justice is his mother is brave enough to relive the horror of losing her son, have her motives questioned, her grieving dissected, in order to try to seek justice. The system failed both of these women. Imagine all the stories we don’t know.
