It turns out, their fix for the problem was grade inflation targeted at the one student she could observe.
I did not want people fired for things that happened outside of work. I did not want to reward cancel mobs, but HR managers refused to accept new worker-protection policies.
The cancelation mobs were normalized. Now they come for people who celebrate murder and harass strangers.

This is pretty much aligned with my view that we need to bring back the idea of the kids table vs the adults table. If you want to talk about things you know nothing about, sit at the kids table, and let the adults talk without being bothered. And the bigger your audience, the more responsible you should be with what you say.

As someone who worked in the mainstream media for more than a decade, I absolutely hate this.
Media slant is hard to quantify and prove. Most people focus on the wording and angle stories take, and how prominent they are.
I think the biggest tell is story selection.
One point I don't want to make: WaPo does not have to cover other stories that have already been covered because of a concept called being a "paper of record"
It's a bullshit editorial direction and sometimes readers can get the story elsewhere and that's perfectly fine.
But if this was about a black violent crime victim from a white mob, would they have ignored it?
