It was Unite and the GMB who encouraged the working class women of Glasgow to take a shitty deal on equal pay to protect the Labour Council.
Only when the SNP came to power did they get the award they deserved.

The problem is down to @ScottishLabour as they left Glasgow with a huge debt because of their refusal to pay men and women equally which @theSNP rectified.
It beggars belief that the SNP council is threatening to railroad through fire and rehire before it is made illegal in this country by the UK Labour government.
It may not break the letter of the law but it certainly breaks the spirit of it. It’s a despicable way to treat working people. It’s straight out the Tory playbook.
All parties need to get round the table and hammer out a deal,and working people should never be threatened like this again.

Labour run Birmingham council made exactly the same threat last year. House Jock Shanks and his Labour colleagues were all silent then. His outrage is politically selective give Glasgow City Council is run by the SNP.

OK, simple question. Why is Unison refusing to ballot its members on a proposed new pay offer? Is the trade union using members as pawns to provoke the council? The BBC doesn't seem to want to scrutinise the actions of the trade union.
