You may already know but here it is anyway, @Usborne have made all their 1980's computer books available free as a handy PDF download, great for all us wannabe programmers of yesteryear's computers. They can be found right here. usborne.com/browse-books/fea…

Good morning, it's Neil from United Utilities. We're sorry if you're experiencing no water or low pressure. A burst has been reported to us on Car Lane and we can confirm this is the cause of the problem. Our team will be onsite as soon as possible to get this repaired.

In the meantime, our tankers will be pumping extra water into the network to help keep as many customers on supply. We'll be back in touch once we have an update. Thanks for your patience.

And before all your bots come on line to tell me to get in touch, maybe listen to them and take a leaf from their books and get in touch with the paying customer when the problem occurs!!!!!

Just watching the coloured in 1966 FIFA World Cup Cup on Channel 4 in support of Alzheimer’s, and it’s really enjoyable. The charity means a lot to me, I lost my mum twice to it! Get it on and enjoy people.

People really need to understand what is happening in this country at the moment!! We will all just be working to keep these government monkeys in leather shoes and second homes soon!!!
A farmer dies in April 2026. His son inherits the farm. The farm has been in the family since 1847. The farm consists of: 300 acres of grazing pasture, a farmhouse built in 1892, a barn, a milking parlour, two tractors of varying ages, a Land Rover that runs about 70% of the time, and a herd of 180 Hereford-cross cattle. On paper, the farm is worth approximately Β£3.2 million. This is because land near him has been bought recently by a London hedge fund looking for carbon credits, which has dragged the comparable value of every field within forty miles upward to a number nobody local can justify. In cash, the farm produces a profit of about Β£28,000 a year in a good year. In a bad year it loses money. The son also works as a fencing contractor three days a week to keep the operation viable. The inheritance tax bill on a Β£3.2 million estate, even at the reduced 20% rate, comes to approximately Β£140,000 after the increased threshold is applied. The son does not have Β£140,000. The son has never had Β£140,000. The son has Β£4,200 in his current account and an overdraft. The son sells 60 acres to a developer to pay the tax. The developer puts solar panels on the 60 acres. The remaining herd cannot be sustained on the reduced land. The herd is sold. The barn becomes a holiday let. A different family eats Brazilian beef this Christmas without knowing why the price went up. The Treasury collects Β£140,000. The land never produces British food again.
