The recent @twitch blunder has seen many Rust creators try different platforms, namely @kick, where they received much support. An exodus of Rust creators away from Twitch would make us seriously reconsider exclusive Twitch events. We want all Rust streamers to be involved in our live events, part of our aim in these events is to support our community, it becomes difficult to run exclusive Twitch events if the streamer base becomes fractured across multiple platforms. I've had the privilege to talk and work with many Twitch staff, and I know they care and work tirelessly to support their creators. They're some of the most passionate and creative folks I've worked with. This post isn't to say we won't continue to do events, I love Twitch and the events we do, but it is aimed at @Twitch to do better. You won't lose just creators but also biz partners with such blunders. How the latest policy changes got through and went public is worrying. Many creators have already felt alienated over recent years, which is only growing. Upcoming Streaming platforms are good for creators and force competition in this space. Competition is always beneficial and forces other platforms to compete, Twitch is still king but that only remains so with the support of its creators.
