Rock Creek Cattle Company, Montana Ranked No.88 in the world Was designed by Tom Doak & opened in 2008. It is set in a 30,000 acre working ranch. The scenery in Montana is breathtaking. It’s a superb track with an excellent finish over the last 3 holes. Worth the journey.

Riviera Country Club, California Ranked No.26 in the world. A stunning routing that should never be changed. Fast undulating greens with kikuyu rough that feels like hitting out of wire. Incredibly tough to score well on. Makes you appreciate how brilliant Professionals are.

Shoreacres GC, Illinois Ranked No.47 in the world Got to play here recently and it was top class. Seth Raynor at his brilliant best. The best greens in the world might be at Chicago GC but these are not far behind (both Raynor courses). Superb design around the Ravine ❤️

Camargo Club, Ohio Ranked No.59 in the world Yet another Seth Raynor and yet another set of brilliant greens. Not many better green designers that Seth & Perry Maxwell. Top class. The Redan, Short, Biarritz & Eden at Camargo are as a good set of par 3’s as you’ll find. ❤️

Chambers Bay, Washington I feel a bit sorry for Chambers Bay as people mostly talk the poor greens from the 2015 US Open. The course was only open 8 years at that stage and the greens are great now. It’s a super course in excellent condition just outside Seattle. 👏👏

Oakland Hills, Michigan Currently ranked No.36 in the world Has held 6 US Opens and 3 PGA’s including when Padraig Harrington won the PGA there in 2008. A magnificent course where if you miss the fairway you’re not getting a par. Perfect fast greens. Mint condition. 😍

Erin Hills, Wisconsin Host to the US Open in 2017 & The US Women’s Open in 2025. Ranked No.10 in Golf Digest’s top 100 Public courses in the US. Tough course with fast greens. Inland links. No carts allowed so a decent walk but thoroughly enjoyed it yesterday. Recommended.

Laurel Valley, Pennsylvania Played there yesterday on a stunning autumn day. Arnold Palmer served as their touring pro all through his career. Founding Member too. A beautiful course that has 130 bunkers and most of them are in play. The greens were lightning fast.

Rolling Rock Club, Pennsylvania The front nine was designed by Donald Ross back in 1917 while the back nine was added in 1997. The front nine was regarded as one of the finest in the country. This beautiful course forms part of a stunning 10,000 acre country estate.

Oakmont CC, Pennsylvania Tweet 2 Here are some more images from a wonderful golf course which was designed by Henry Fownes in 1903. In the top 10 in the world and rightly so. The greens were running at 13 - 14 and were perfect.

Oakmont CC, Pennsylvania Tweet 1 Had been trying to play there for 4 years and it was the wait. A magnificent course that could hold a tournament at a few days notice. Was in perfect condition. An extremely tough course but a calm sunny day helped our cause. Loved it.

Lundin Links Another Scottish gem. Old Tom Morris laid out the original 9 and then James Braid sprinkled his magic to make it 18. It’s a strikers course. Brilliant greens with an excellent routing. Highly recommended.

The Renaissance Club Got to play the current home of the Scottish Open on Monday. The course opened in 2008 but 3 new holes (9, 10 & 11) were added 5 years later & they were a huge addition along the coast. Was in superb condition. It was windy & was a proper test of golf. 👏

North Berwick GC What a brilliant design. The first 7 holes and last 6 are stunning. The Pit hole over the wall on 13, the original Redan on 15 and the world famous Biarritz style green on 16 are all superb. So enjoyable. Played it before but loved it even more this time. 😍

Thought it was worth putting up a few photos from Merion considering the final of the US Amateur is on there today. It’s a special course on only 120 acres. Top 10 in the world for sure. Course condition the day we played it was immaculate. So much history there. Loved it 😍

Playing Royal County Down and Royal Portrush this week reminded me that they are the best 2 courses in Ireland & Northern Ireland. Which one is the best do you think ?
