How committed is Jalen Hurts to football? After initially being diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in London, doctors told him not to sleep as a precaution, so he had been awake for roughly 36 hours when he started against the Jaguars, throwing for 220 yards and a TD.

#Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season after several blood clots were revealed in his lungs, has been undergoing tests for days.
Before the London game, Hurts was in the hospital until 4 am and did not sleep because sleep was a risk. He played without having slept.

People act like we defend Jalen Hurts because we think he’s the greatest talent to touch the football field, that’s not it.
While I appreciate Jalen and what he does on the football field, I defend Jalen because he is treated like dirt by fans and media.
One of the highest character guys I’ve ever seen gets his character question and completely false narratives are put on him.
Jalen Hurts is the most disrespected player in NFL history.

Multiple meetings with experts & doctors & they decided it’s so serious that they need to put him on the IR…
Boy do I hope you feel stupid @RealMikeRob
Breaking: After consultations with numerous doctors and experts that went into Saturday, the Eagles are placing quarterback Jalen Hurts on injured reserve, sources tell @rapsheet and me. The move will sideline Hurts indefinitely.
More info to come.

It’s here. LeBron James made his Philadelphia debut as a Sixer on Friday night.
He was announced fourth just ahead of Joel Embiid and of course, did his signature chalk toss before taking the court.
It is the start of a new era of Sixer basketball and the city is electric.

A USC vs Tennessee play off game would mean way more than USC and Tennessee playing in the Reliaquest bowl or something.
Honestly, if you look at it, this first round is simply making “bowl” games matter again except they aren’t bowls. A lot of teams will define success by making the playoff and winning A playoff game
Whereas in the past, it was make a certain bowl and win that bowl.
All the rivalries, week to week stories, etc. will still exist. Everyone calm down

I’m in. More meaningful games against the biggest college teams between conferences that don’t play eachother on a yearly basis. Bowl games have been dead for a long time, this takes the place for the one common goal in the game.. the Natty.

I’m hear they charging a lot of money for football tickets in the new stadium. Fans feel like they are paying for future concert tickets and the organization doesn’t care about the product which is football. Don’t shoot the messenger 🤷🏾♂️#WordOnTheStreet

Funny personal story I have about the late GOAT Mike Ditka...
When I was a toddler, my parents and I were on a flight and #MikeDitka happened to be on the flight a few years after the 1985 superbowl win.
My mom passed him in the aisle and I waved to him, and he said to my mom, "She's a beautiful little girl!" My mom said, "Oh just wait..."
In front of DA Coach she says, "Faran, who is the President of the United States?" ... I go, "Mike Ditka!"
20 years later when I danced for his team "The Chicago Rush," I met him at his Ditka's Steakhouse in downtown Chicago.
Upon meeting him, I go, "I actually met you when I was about 3 years old on a plane with my parents." He goes, "Wait, you're not the little girl who said I was the President of the United States, are you?" I told him, "Indeed I am."
He gave me the biggest hug and said, "I don't think you realize, I told everyone in my family that happened... I have been telling that story for decades! What a full circle moment that now you dance for the team!"
Rest in power Coach! You are and always will be a legend.

Origin Story for The Greatest Show in all of College Sports:
THE WHITEOUT
Kirk Herbstreit has called games in Baton Rouge, Eugene, Columbus, and Austin. He still asks the same question every fall: which game is the White Out?
It did not start as a spectacle. In 2004, Penn State was coming off a 3-9 season, Beaver Stadium had a reputation as one of the quietest big houses in the sport, and branding director Guido D’Elia needed something. His pitch was simple. Everybody already owns a white T-shirt. Get the student section, about 20,000 strong, to wear it on the same night, or do not bother. Half participation would look splotchy and kill the idea.
There was no social media to push it. Interns hit class changes with bullhorns, ran through the HUB in white pants and face paint, and sat down at dining-hall tables to recruit. On October 9, 2004, No. 9 Purdue and Kyle Orton walked into the first student White Out. Penn State lost 20-13. The students did not sit down. Audibles got hard. The idea survived the loss.
A year later it became a tradition. October 8, 2005, student section in white, No. 6 Ohio State in town. Tamba Hali put Troy Smith on his head, Penn State won 17-10, and at halftime Herbstreit called that section the best in the country. (I was there and the picture hangs on my wall to this day) Sports Illustrated later tagged Happy Valley home games the greatest show in college sports. In 2007 the dress code went stadium-wide for Notre Dame. Penn State won 31-10, and one night a year has been reserved for it ever since.
Herbstreit has not walked it back. In 2018 he called a top-10 Penn State team, a top-10 visitor, and a White Out “the perfect storm,” and said you will not find a more intimidating, more involved crowd for 60 minutes. In 2019 he called Saturday night at the White Out the best atmosphere in college football, and the student section the best in the country by far. By 2021 he was still asking which game it was before the season even started, and still could not figure out how they get near-total buy-in. Other schools get 85 or 90 percent. Beaver gets a wall.
It began as a marketing fix for a quiet stadium in a bad year. It stuck because the fans treated one white shirt like a job.
Show up. Wear White. Get loud! #WeAre @PennStateMafia @B1OBEY0ND
