This will not be voted on until after the midterms.
The Protect College Sports Act advances through the U.S. Senate to establish federal regulations on NIL, revenue sharing, and transfer rules. It also advocates for HBCUs and has support from the MEAC and SWAC. Howard football player Kedrick Green says the bill would give HBCU athletes "security and a fair opportunity." But Athletes.org, an advocacy organization for college athletics, noted this investment in HBCUs is only “authorized” by the bill and not mandated. “It does not actually appropriate a single dollar,” the organization said. There's a lot to be settled. 📹 @SenateCommerce

You ok? This is not healthy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Replying to @canegang305mia
Calling yourselves "trendsetters" after spending a decade relegated to Adidas tire-tread uniforms while the rest of us stayed on Swoosh status is wild. Also, let's actually read the terms: $13M of that annual figure is cash, and the rest is product allotment, for a private school with barely 18 varsity sports to equip. FSU has 20 programs to feed under a full-department deal signed years ago that’s up for renegotiation soon anyway. Congrats on finally getting back on Nike, but let's not pretend Phil Knight is treating a half-empty Hard Rock Stadium like the flagship of college football.

The Protect College Sports Act would make it difficult to almost impossible for brands like Miami, Florida State, Clemson, UNC and others to seek a better financial and athletics situation than the current ACC Grant of Rights. -A five year probationary period where you're forced to go independent before jumping to another conference. A massive economic and scheduling challenge is created. -Conferences capped at 19 schools. That would mean only 1 open spot in the Big Ten and 3 in the SEC. A high stakes game of musical chairs would commence. The ACC and the Big XXII would benefit from this deal because they can hold their biggest brands hostage.

Who cares
The gap in resources is not a G6 only issue. More than half of the P4 are spending an estimated $20M less than the top 5 teams. Roughly a third of the P4 are spending an estimated $20M less than the top 15 teams. Are they playing the same sport?
