This is what happens when the majority of peoples first job is one with enormous amounts of power.. I’ve been luckily protected from most in more humanity oriented institutions but overall med culture is shockingly toxic. Working other jobs prior to medicine is VERY protective

People go to med school for more debt, lower salaries, and less chance of actually getting to BE A CLINICIAN than ever before!! Not something I was EVER told about in my decade+ of pursuing this career - actually the opposite if anything

In 2022 roughly 7% of medical school graduates did not match into residency. The avg 2023 med school graduate owes $250k in total debt. Physician wages are falling behind inflation. Should medical schools disclose such information to applicants?

i worked at a refugee clinic there a few years ago when trump's anti migrant policy was in full swing. after biden became president it felt like people just stopped talking about this. med students and physicians alike there are many opportunities to offer aid!
