If we see 7-13 named storms in the Atlantic this season, I’ll bring back the buzz and keep it until August 6th, 2028
NOAA Lowers Atlantic Hurricane Season Outlook as El Niño Strengthens
NOAA released its updated forecast for the remainder of the Atlantic hurricane season, now calling for 7–13 tropical storms, 2–6 hurricanes, and 0–2 major hurricanes (Category 3 or stronger). These totals include the two tropical storms that have already formed this season: Arthur and Bertha.
The increasingly strong El Niño is expected to be the primary factor keeping this season below average by increasing wind shear across the tropical Atlantic, making it more difficult for storms to develop and strengthen.

Hurricane Isaias and its remnants spawned at least 24 confirmed tornadoes!
The remnants of Hurricane Isaias triggered a significant tornado outbreak across the Southeast from October 9–11, with 24 tornadoes confirmed so far by National Weather Service surveys.
North Carolina was hit particularly hard, including an EF2 tornado in Duplin County with estimated peak winds of 125 mph. Another EF2 tornado was confirmed in Barnwell County, South Carolina, with winds reaching 115 mph.
Surveys are still being finalized, so the confirmed tornado count could continue to change.
Happy birthday to my best friend, go drop him a follow! @VincentWX_1

Japan's Meteorological Agency accidentally issued an early warning for a 9.9-magnitude earthquake.
The real magnitude was 6.9, according to the USGS. No tsunami alert.
I stand by my skepticism even with the newly added 5%.
Maybe I’ll be proven wrong, but this seems like a really unnecessary 2% TOR risk as of now. Problems with dry air, poor instability, poor storm mode, poor SRH, poor lapse rates what exactly does this environment have going for it as far as a tornado threat goes. #wxtwitter
