We all knew something was coming down the pike.
I honestly believe the following:
Republicans are no longer participating in American democracy.
They have no interest in sharing the country with those who aren't Republicans.
Republicans will not be accepting an electoral loss from this moment on.
Republicans have no intention of voluntarily and peacefully transferring the reins of power ever again.
And so few seem to be considering this as a possibility.
I fear it's very real and we're in serious trouble.

The $90 Medicare payment is coming from money Congress already appropriated.
The $5,000 “Trump Dividend” is something else entirely. It has not been authorized by Congress, there is no funded program in place, and Trump is now telling Americans they will get it if Republicans win the midterms.
That is not a benefit people are currently entitled to. It is an election promise tied directly to a political outcome.
In other words: “Vote for my party and you’ll get $5,000” is not the same thing as delivering an already-funded government payment.
