We're marking National Hate Crime Awareness Week.
Southwark had over 800 reports of hate crimes in the last year - that's 800 too many.
We're committed to rooting out all forms of hatred and discrimination wherever it is found.

🎥 We face a £102 million budget gap over the next three years.
Rising costs, increasing demand for services and reduced funding mean we have some difficult decisions ahead.
We're already looking at ways to save money, work more efficiently and generate more income. But we can't make these decisions without understanding what matters most to residents.

Today we mark October 7th - where we remember those who were killed, and look towards a brighter future.

When I saw the Nova music festival site, the impact of October 7th hit home. Three years on, the violence continues, and we have seen an appalling rise in antisemitism here and around the world. We must stand with the Jewish community, stamp out antisemitism, and work for peace.

I have had conversations today with Southwark Green Party colleagues which I feel reassured by, and has led to this joint statement being released. 1/3

Getting stuck in for cleaner, greener streets!
Borough & Bankside @swklibdems councillors were out litter picking in Mint Street Park today. Plenty of cans, bottles and cigarette butts collected, and even some discarded fireworks.
We’ll definitely be back for another one soon!
