Victor Davis Hanson is not Jewish. He is a renowned American classicist, military historian, author, and senior fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution - making his fact-based defense of Israel all the more significant.
In one of his recent interviews, Hanson gave a fascinating analysis of four accusations repeatedly made against Israel - apartheid, settler colonialism, ethnic cleansing, and genocide.
His conclusion was clear: These slogans collapse when confronted with historical facts.
Apartheid?
Approximately two million Arab citizens live in Israel with the right to vote, serve in parliament, study at universities, practice their religion, and participate throughout Israeli society.
Meanwhile, many of the countries accusing Israel of apartheid officially privilege Islam and severely restrict religious conversion, minority communities, and basic freedoms.
Settler colonialism?
The Jewish connection to the land of Israel is supported by nearly 4,000 years of historical, archaeological, linguistic, and biblical evidence.
The Jewish people did not arrive in their ancestral homeland as foreign colonizers. They returned to the land from which foreign empires had repeatedly expelled them.
Meanwhile, Arab armies conquered enormous portions of the Middle East and North Africa. The Ottoman conquest transformed Hagia Sophia - once the greatest church in Christendom - into a mosque. Yet those historical conquests are rarely described as settler colonialism.
Ethnic cleansing?
Where were the demonstrations when Turkey expelled Greeks from northern Cyprus and moved Turkish settlers into the occupied territory?
Where was the outrage when Azerbaijan drove more than 100,000 Armenians from their ancestral homes in Nagorno-Karabakh?
Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Zohran Mamdani were remarkably quiet.
Genocide?
When Israel was established, approximately 170,000 Arabs remained within the country. Today, around two million Arab citizens live in Israel, and the Arab share of its population has increased rather than disappeared.
Genocidal regimes do not cause the population they supposedly seek to eliminate to grow dramatically in both number and proportion.
As Hanson explained, many of those accusing Israel are projecting the sins of their own nations, movements, and histories onto one tiny, democratic Jewish state.
Why is Israel judged by a standard applied to no other nation?
The answer is becoming painfully clear - because Israel is predominantly Jewish.
Accusations may travel quickly, but historical facts still matter.

The world has a very specific kind of dead body it knows how to mourn. These are not it.
A Christian community in North Africa is putting its people into the ground after another Islamist massacre, and most of the West will never learn their names.
There will be no campus encampment, no urgent panel, no celebrity caption. The same institutions that can produce a slogan in an hour when the victims fit the script go quiet when the killers are men who actually say they are doing it for their “god”.
This is not a tragedy that fell out of the sky. It is a method.
Churches, villages, families, then a trench, then a burial, then silence until the next one. If your moral system only activates when Israel is in the frame, it is not a moral system. It is a filter.
Watch it. Then ask why this footage never travels.

Our long-range responses had a very significant impact in the Moscow region last night. One of Russia’s key oil industry facilities and the aggressor’s logistics facility were hit. These are billions of dollars that sustain the war machine. The systems used included FP-1, RZ-100, MICH-2000, Palianytsia, Vendetta, Liutyi, Bars, Flamingo, Sichen, and Pelican.
I thank our warriors for their accuracy: the Security Service of Ukraine together with the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, and the Foreign Intelligence Service. Sanctions were also imposed on a facility in the Voronezh region. Moscow must end its brutal war and choose peace instead of building layered rings of air defense at the expense of other regions. Steps toward de-escalation are on the table – in energy and food security. What is needed is political will. I thank everyone who is strengthening Ukraine’s long-range capabilities. Even if you believe with all your heart that Gaza is a genocide, Israel is an apartheid state and Palestine should be free, it has never been more obvious in all of human history that the only reason you care so viscerally about this conflict – and only this conflict – depsite far more violent ones with far more casualties and far more clarity in who the good guys and the bad guys are, is because on the other side of this conflict is a people called the Jews.

Free Palestine is the dumbest political slogan in history. The people who repeat it don’t understand the conflict, and have no idea what they’re talking about.
Their ignorance is so profound that to call them simply misinformed would be to pay them a compliment.
Israel is not the aggressor. ‘Palestine’ is.
Religiously mandated Islamic Jew hatred is the cause of the conflict. The Muslims don’t want freedom. Freedom is un-Islamic. They want to kill Jews.
They don’t want their own state. They’ve had multiple opportunities, and they’ve rejected it every time.
Israel gave them Gaza in 2005 for the promise of peace, uprooting thousands of Israelis from their homes. The Muslims could have turned it into a tourist paradise and a glittering jewel on the Mediterranean coast.
Instead, they turned it into a terror hub and started raining down Iranian missiles on Israeli civilians. They spent the billions they received in aid to build terror tunnels from which to attack civilians.
If these savages ever got their own state (which they won’t, thank God) the last thing it would be is free. It would be an Islamic hellhole run like Gaza is run today, with summary executions and routine torture of anyone who steps out of line. Anyone suspected of being gay would be thrown from a rooftop to their death and their body dragged through the street behind a motorcycle.
Israel is the good guy in this conflict. One day you ‘Free Palestine’ morons will wake up and realise that, and you’ll cringe at the people you are now.

Now that he won’t stop talking, the folks who told us Hasan Piker is a serious voice who should be listened to ought to let us know which of these positions we’re supposed to take seriously:
1. That “pound for pound,” America is worse than al-Qaeda - a ridiculous statement on a normal day, but particularly vile the same week we’re reflecting on the loss of 3,000 Americans on the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
2. That Communist China’s repressive regime is the “model” for America.
3. That Mao was “a great man of history” while the collapse of the Soviet Union was "one of the greatest catastrophes of the 20th century."
The great thing about America is that everyone is entitled to their opinions and free to express them, however dumb or immoral. That includes ‘Comrade’ Piker. The rest of us are just as free - obligated even - to call out this vile, hateful speech that only divides America.

Yep, about 2.17 million Arab citizens live inside Israel proper making up about 22% of the population.
Most are descendants of Palestinians who remained after 1948 and hold full Israeli citizenship.
They vote in Israeli elections, serve in the Knesset and courts, and work throughout the economy.
In healthcare they are over-represented with about 25% of physicians and even higher shares of nurses, dentists, and pharmacists.
Many identify as Palestinian while also holding Israeli passports and living under Israeli civil law.

How can they justify leaving right now?
Diesel costs just hit an all-time high. Our nation is at war. The bond market is quivering. The urgency of AI regulation has come to a critical moment.

Something unusual is happening in Paris. 🇫🇷
Macron has summoned France’s political leaders and presidential candidates to the Élysée tomorrow amid what his office calls a “rapid deterioration of the international situation.”
What makes this particularly noteworthy is who will brief them:
France’s domestic, foreign and military intelligence services, national security officials — and the country’s energy leadership.
The agenda covers the Middle East, Ukraine, energy security and the consequences for France.
French reporting says the meeting follows a DGSE intelligence briefing earlier this week. One diplomatic source described the situation simply:
“We are entering a different world.”
This does not mean Paris expects an imminent war or that every recent incident in Europe is connected.
But governments rarely bring political rivals and intelligence chiefs into the same room unless they believe the strategic environment has changed enough that everyone needs to understand the same picture.

This week the Pentagon's own inspector general confirmed that Iran has damaged or destroyed hundreds of buildings at American bases in eight countries, along with dozens of aircraft. Neither Vietnam, Iraq nor Afghanistan ever saw the American footprint across a whole region hammered at once, and the public only learned of it because soldiers leaked photographs while Hegseth shrugged about the occasional "squirter."
General Caine warned before the first bomb fell that stockpiles and defences were not ready. Hegseth, a former television host, has since fired or blocked more than eighty generals and admirals, so the war is being run with the adults removed from the building.
