Would you know I had pneumonia, a heart condition, Stage IV head and neck cancer and I'm 4 weeks out of major abdominal surgery? Appearances don't tell you the whole story. You can see how someone looks, but you can't always see what it takes for them to keep going.
New work, signed today.

New work, just signed. I love working on black paper! In the expressive spirit and according to Kandinsky, «black enhances the effect of any color.»

In the works! Pastel pencils, 50x70 cm. Working on these are so meditative. Struggling a lot with my mental health, I can’t tell you how much it means to cathartically and intuitively enter ‘the zone.’

I love these fields that I pass by during my interval runs on Jeløy Island, where I live. Edvard Much stayed at this exact location to paint back in the day.
This photo was taken yesterday when me and my son did 11k. Such a beautiful day!

These are six hidden gems that David is genuinely surprised are still available in our online gallery.
John Douglas — David used the words "expressive burst of power" and loves how the explosion of color feels almost musical, inviting you to experience emotion before you even recognize individual flowers.
René Arns — There is something deeply moving about this portrait. David's first feeling wasn't sadness; it was relief. As though someone has "finally found shelter" after a long journey.
Samantha Fellows @sammyfellows — David's first impression was "a lovely smile." This painting doesn't reveal everything immediately. Like meeting someone kind, its beauty grows the longer you spend with it.
Jane Mosley — David immediately thought of those perfect pebbles you can't help picking up during a walk along the shore. Stones shaped patiently by waves over countless years. This painting captures that same quiet beauty, ordinary objects transformed into something precious simply because someone took the time to really see them.
Sunny de Vroedt — There's a quiet optimism in this piece. To David, it speaks about possibility, growth, and the exciting feeling that our best chapters may still lie ahead.
Judith Sturm — David's first impression, "sensual". The bold stripes become flowing fabric, the silhouette hints at movement, and suddenly your imagination begins filling in the rest of the figure. It's sophisticated, playful, and wonderfully open to interpretation.
That's the beauty of art. These were simply the thoughts that came to David's mind. Now we'd love to hear yours. Which artwork speaks to you, and what do you see?
Every postcard is a one-of-a-kind original artwork donated by an artist from somewhere in the world. Proceeds support Museum Beelden aan Zee's Blijft je Bij ("Unforgettable") program for people living with Alzheimer's and dementia, creating meaningful moments of connection through art.
Perhaps one of David's hidden gems has been quietly waiting for its collector all along. Go to https://www.postcardartexhibit/shop for a closer look and to see the other great cards still available.

My artwork is at the Museum Beelden in the Netherlands. This piece is constructed from collaged monotypes on a monotype background using acrylic paints. The exhibition reception has concluded, but artwork can still be purchased online until July 8, 2026. The money raised from this exhibition will benefit alzheimer’s and dementia patients.
