Reflection: Why don’t walls effectively protect empires? My thoughts: Empires are cultural constructs, not physical places to defend. If the empire isn’t viable enough to prevent cultural decay, it is doomed. Walls prevent infusion of ideas. #Border #Wall #Immigration #MAGArot

I stand corrected. The Mongolian Empire was larger than the Soviet Union (an empire built on its ability to bypass all walls), and though non-contiguous, the British Empire encompassed more land than any other (without walls at all) and still stands, kinda. #Border #Wall
