Take note guys, the US attempted to auction off debt yesterday in the form of 20 year treasury bonds. It has been reported that demand was week but that the auction was successful. Sounds questionable to me. Did China take up the offer? or any of the BRICS block?

#Trump is this how Tyranny and Totalitarianism is born? The Power Play: How a Monopoly on Force Can Lead to Tyranny
There’s a narrative being sold to the American people and the wider world right now—one that claims the current administration’s actions are about improving government efficiency, removing incompetence, and eliminating political bias from institutions that should remain neutral. But let’s be clear: I’ve lived for long enough and have seen and experienced enough to determine that this is likely to be a smokescreen.
It’s so easy to get distracted by the nonsense of the minutia such as the talk of dismantling “woke” policies, targeting diversity initiatives, or shifting law enforcement priorities. But none of these are the core objective in my opinion. The real strategy is far more calculated and far more dangerous.
What’s unfolding is a systematic consolidation of power over every arm of government that wields force. The military, law enforcement and the judicial system. The agencies responsible for investigation, prosecution, and incarceration. It cannot be denied that at every level, a clear pattern is emerging: individuals in positions of influence are being replaced, not on the basis of merit, experience, or national interest, but on their personal loyalty to one man President Donald Trump.
Controlling the Use of Force
Recent moves at the Department of Defence illustrate this point. The removal of Air Force General CQ Brown Jr. from his position as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff wasn’t about policy differences. It was about control. This was followed by the firings of Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Lisa Franchetti and Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force General Jim Slife. These purges are not about “reforming” the military; they are about eliminating dissent.
President Trump has nominated retired Air Force Lt. General John Dan “Razin” Caine as Brown’s replacement, despite Caine lacking the legally required experience for the role. The law allows for a waiver “in the national interest,” but let’s be clear: this is not about national interest. It’s about personal allegiance. Trump himself has boasted that Caine once told him, “I love you, sir. I think you’re great, sir. I’ll kill for you, sir.”
It’s the same story at the Justice Department, where Trump loyalist Emil Bove is leading a purge of prosecutors who won’t bend to Trump’s will. Bove has gone after the department’s most powerful divisions, shaking up the national security unit and demanding a list of FBI agents who worked on the Capitol riot investigations. This isn’t “depoliticization.” It’s a test of obedience.
President Trump’s new FBI leadership follows the same blueprint. Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent turned media personality, has been appointed deputy director, working alongside Kash Patel. Bongino is one of many former Fox News personalities now embedded in the administration. But this isn’t about media influence. It’s about unwavering loyalty.
The Tyrant’s Playbook
History has shown that every authoritarian regime follows a similar pattern:
Control over military and law enforcement – Establish a personal monopoly on the use of force.
Loyalty over legality – Replace officials who uphold the rule of law with those who prioritize personal allegiance.
Judicial capture – Challenge the independence of courts and judges who stand in the way.
Deflection and distraction – Frame power grabs as necessary reforms, blaming opponents for politicization while engaging in the very thing they condemn.
This is exactly what we are seeing now.
Recently, Trump posted a statement on social media, quoting Napoleon: “He who saves his Country does not violate any Law.” I'll repeat this as I could not believe my eyes: “He who saves his Country does not violate any Law.” This was in response to his administration refusing to comply with a federal court ruling. The message is clear: laws are only valid when they serve the leader’s interests.
Simultaneously, Trump is realigning America’s foreign alliances, pulling back from traditional allies while embracing figures like Putin and Xi. Just recently, the U.S. joined Russia, North Korea, and Iran in opposing a U.N. resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. These are not diplomatic missteps. They are strategic moves in a larger realignment.
The Resistance: What Comes Next
This is not alarmism. This is reality. And understanding the full scope of what’s happening is critical.
The vast majority of Americans do not want to live under an authoritarian regime. Yet, power is being consolidated at an alarming pace. The question is: what can be done to stop it?
Key institutions remain intact—state governments, independent courts, and certain law enforcement bodies still hold the ability to challenge these actions. But they will not act unless people demand it. That requires engagement:
Legal challenges must be pursued relentlessly. Although we must also remember that President Trump holds the balance of power within the Supreme Court.
State and local leaders must take a stand against federal overreach.
Public resistance—through peaceful protest, mobilisation, and civil disobedience—must make it clear that tyranny will not go unchallenged.
Tyranny only succeeds when people submit to it. But history has also shown that it cannot endure when the people refuse to be ruled by fear.
This is the defining moment. How America responds now will determine whether democracy prevails—or whether we enter an era of unchecked authoritarian rule
