“It's the first time in Europe that we've done this on this scale,” said Elder Robert F. Schwartz, an Area Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who joined with hundreds of people gathered in London to Light the World on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
Â
Images of Jesus Christ were projected on the historic County Hall for several hours in London’s South Bank of the River Thames, near the iconic London Eye, as part of the Church’s global Christmas initiative.
Â
“It’s been magical,” said Sister Kristin M. Yee of the Relief Society General Presidency, who attended the event and mingled with the crowd in the famous London tourist spot.Â

When I contemplate the privilege of dedicating the Deseret Peak Utah Temple this weekend, I am filled with awe at all the Lord is doing for His people.
When I was born, there were just six operating temples in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Deseret Peak Temple will be the 200th in the world. Just think of it! It took the Church until the year 2000 to dedicate the first 100 temples, and now, just 24 years later, we are dedicating the second 100.
The Lord is truly hastening His work. I am filled with gratitude for the Lord’s mercy in guiding us to bring temples closer to members of the Church throughout the world.

I’ve heard a lot of BYU post-game fight songs, after wins and losses. This one was one of the more special ones. #CougarBlueRoadTrip
