No spatial navigation system, no human operator, no actual flight. No regulatory clearance for this to even be legal.
Reminds me of the hype over his AI robots that were found to actually be human operated.
Or the CyberTruck that would be able to "serve as a boat" to cross rivers.
OG's also remember the underground highways, and of course, the moon colonization shtick.
The guys more of a magician than an engineer, people still fall for it, and for that I can't even hate.
It's just crazy how many people become believers based on pure theatrics.

Including many examples from when Georgia hired Kirby Smart in late 2005.

Berenberg Initiates $ASTS at Buy, PT $92 (65% upside)
Analyst comments: "AST SpaceMobile is the only company to have demonstrated true cellular broadband from space to unmodified smartphones.
It approaches commercial operations in 2027 with pieces its competitors lack, including 60+ mobile network operator (MNO) partnerships covering c3bn subscribers, premium lowband access plus owned L-band and S-band spectrum, and a growing government/defence franchise.
The key to the story is that ASTS complements rather than competes with carriers like AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone and Rakuten.
We see asymmetric risk-reward, with rapid revenue growth at extraordinary margins once continuous service launches in 2027 and multiple catalysts along the way. We initiate with a Buy rating and $92 price target."

The space sector did the most counterintuitive thing possible. It got its biggest catalyst in history, and the whole group got flushed.
That was supposed to be the moment the entire sector re rated.
Instead it sucked the oxygen out of the room. Investors dumped every other space name to fund their SpaceX allocation, the ETFs bled, and the whole basket got treated as one high beta pile of profit taking.

Never before has so much attention been lavished on a company in advance of its IPO. And no company, in the weeks following its IPO, has been treated to more withering scrutiny. By now, you will surely have read umpteen articles and reports poking and prodding every aspect of the largest IPO of all time. By and large, the coverage has been split into two camps. One camp has fawned over the sheer audacity of the enterprise and the spectacular size of SpaceX’s addressable market. The other has relentlessly lampooned the utter ridiculousness of so many of the numbers thrown around in the company’s S-1 and analyst commentary. We’re in neither camp. To be sure, there is plenty to poke fun at. SpaceX’s assessment of its total addressable market (TAM), at almost $30 trillion, is absurd. So too are its forecasts for a mobility (D2D wireless) segment that is, to us, likely little more than a niche market. Founder and CEO Elon Musk has called for launching compute into orbit at a rate of 100 GW annually by year-end 2029, an amount that exceeds global in-service data center capacity today and for which sufficient material inputs will not exist in three-and-a-half years. There is simply no credible financial model that can support what is at the time of this writing a roughly $2 trillion valuation. Our own certainly does not. On this basis alone, it would be easy – some might argue prudent – to initiate coverage with a flashing red Sell rating. PT $131
