In Benin Republic 🇧🇯, the National Grid is so reliable that you can go six months or more without a single power outage, not even for a second.
Billionaire Tyler Perry gave his own family 60 days to find jobs or lose his financial support. Despite being worth an estimated $1.4 billion, he refused to keep supporting relatives who weren't working.
In the video below, Perry explains why he fired his own aunt and later gave other family members an ultimatum after his mother's death.
He wanted them to become financially independent instead of relying on his fortune.
One aunt regularly called asking for money, and Perry kept sending it until he offered her a job. But she repeatedly called in and failed to show up for work, so he eventually fired her.
His mother had also asked him to support other relatives, and he continued helping them while she was alive. After she died in 2009, Perry sent them letters giving them 60 days to find employment or lose his financial support.
According to Perry, every relative eventually found a job. He didn't care whether the jobs paid well because he wanted them to earn their own money and have something to feel proud of.
Perry also recalled a relative getting angry when he refused to hand over $1 million. He believed that continually giving money to people who refused to work was making their dependence worse.
A billionaire who could afford to support his entire family chose to make them earn their own living.
If you had $1.4 billion, would you keep supporting unemployed relatives or give them the same 60-day ultimatum?
The "cult" just hosted the world's faith leaders in the Salt Lake Tabernacle.
Catholic, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu leaders under one roof.... and a message from Pope Leo XIV read at the opening.
Meanwhile on X: "Mormons aren't Christian!!!"
Funny how the people who actually meet us keep showing up.
"Without demanding a compromise of distinctive commitments." That's exactly how it's done. Love this, President Oaks.

President Dallin H. Oaks of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints welcomed religious leaders from around the world to Salt Lake City on Thursday, praising efforts to build peace and understanding while respecting differences in belief.
“People of goodwill, compassion, and a desire to understand and help one another — without demanding a compromise of distinctive commitments — are at the core of peacemaking,” he said during the opening ceremony of the G20 Interfaith Forum in the Salt Lake Tabernacle.

It’ll have a new convention center, updated Abravanel Hall, new art museum, transformed Delta Center, Live Nation venue, strong local vibe combined with new iconic brands, hotel, housing, restaurants, and a central pedestrian walkway connecting the whole downtown from City Creek all the way to the new front door of the Delta Center.

Why do we observe the law of the fast?
The Lord did not give us the law of the fast to add burdens to our lives. He gave it instead to relieve burdens, “to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke” (Isaiah 58:6).

My Deacon is passing the sacrament today, my Priest is blessing it, we just got the news that our stake is being split, because of the massive amount of growth in the area, we sang “I Stand All Amazed” for the sacrament hymn, and I got to hold a baby. I don’t care what you call that, but I call that winning for Christ.

You can disagree with Church doctrine, criticize its leadership, or question how it spends its money.
But calling an institution that promotes education, strong families, self-reliance, charitable giving, volunteerism, and service an “abomination on earth” is quite a claim.
The Church isn’t perfect. Neither are its members. But wherever it goes, it works to build communities of people who contribute to society.
You may regret your tithing. That’s your prerogative. But pretending your contributions produced nothing but harm requires ignoring an extraordinary amount of good.
I gave gross tithing (not net) to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since I was eight years old. I helped to fund this abomination on earth. I won't ever be able to get a refund of that money, and I can never undo the negative consequences of what my unwitting aid has done to help the Mormon church.

Ah yes, another "Mormonism vs. Christianity" chart written by someone who apparently believes Christianity began with the Protestant Reformation.
Let's review:
"Bible alone (66 books)" — Congratulations, you've just excluded Catholics and Orthodox Christians from historic Christianity.
"Grace alone through faith alone" — Oops. You've excluded them again.
"Believers are glorified creatures, not gods" — Somebody should inform Athanasius, Irenaeus, Augustine, and the Catholic Catechism about theosis.
"Jesus is a created being" — Somebody should inform the Book of Mormon, which explicitly calls Him "the Eternal God" (2 Nephi 26:12).
"Christ's Atonement isn't sufficient" — Somebody should actually read what Latter-day Saints teach about grace.
It's impressive, really.
Eight rows, two columns, and somehow you've managed to misrepresent Mormonism, Catholicism, Orthodoxy, AND the history of Christianity.
But hey, at least the formatting is nice.

The New Testament does record Jesus and His apostles using the laying on of hands for healing, imparting the Holy Spirit (as seen in Acts 8:17-18), and ordaining church workers, later instructing believers to lay hands on the sick for recovery (see Mark 16:18).
